| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 16, 2003 Rather slight aroma, some honeyish sweetness, faint yeast, lightly floral, spicy hop and lighter malts. Golden in color, faintly hazy, mostly subsiding head and plenty of effervescence. Flavor is malty, faintly floral and sweet to start, then blending with a fair amount of bitter hop spice. Finish is lightly peppery. Interesting and easy-drinking. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2003 Interesting taste as it has a malty taste in which it is apparent that it could possibly take over the ber if it was not for the honey bouquet at the end. I'm slowly making my way through the New Glarus selections and am amazed by the high quality they continue to put out. drywallman (228), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2003 Fairly malty, but not over the edge. A decent floral hop bitterness, and the suggestion of honey. It could be a very good session beer. hennes (932), Fountain, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2003 Do I have a great wife or what? She took a trip home to her folks and loaded up on cool Wisconsin brews. This one's defining characteristic is it's heavy, thick texture. It's viscosity is slippery and honeylike, which probably emphasizes the significant honey flavor presence. The other dominant tatse is fruity - apple juice, and the thing would get uncomfortably sweet were it not for a faint florality holding it in check - barely. Its monstrous maltiness almost gets away, the honey almost becomes artificial, but everthing holds together in the end and it's a good beer. WabashMan (812), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 10, 2003 Nice golden color, but an aroma that leaves something to offer. The beer tastes...soft, subtle, and the honey is apparent. A nice beer, and a little unique. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2003 Medium gold color. Largish foamy head. Aroma is slightly floral. A medium bodied beer. Mild malts are sweet. Honey flavor prevalent. Hops are very mild. Very smooth and slightly sweet. Nice tasting beer. I would never have guessed that this is a bock. I like it, but it sure doesn’t taste like most bocks I’ve had. Mouthfeel is thick and round. Finish is clean and very smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2002 Light bitterness in the nose. Aesthetics are top notch: huge, creamy, white head that is mostly lasting. Excellent lacing. Body sparkles like champagne. Picked up a hint of pistachio in the intial taste. Very tasty; good overall brew. Could serve as a more than adequate session brew.
