Commercial Description:
Wisconsin and European barleys are joined together to create the heart of this intensely malty bier. Norski Honey Bock is accented with fresh clover honey harvested just over the hill from our little brewery. Expect this bier to pour the deepest golden blonde body, crowned with incredible creamy foam. The subtle bouquet is reminiscent of the Old World Hallertau and Saaz Hops.

Bottle This bottle kept it’s shape very well, and had no loss of it’s beauty. Still great creamy head with excellent retention. The aromas were honey, malt and some slight hops. This pale bock was a very good beer, dangerously quaffable.

This was a good one, drank on tap in NG at some bar and in the bottle. Nice deep golden color, and LOTS of head. Smells slightly sweet and hoppy. Tastes almost like a barleywine (!!!!), with the sweetness offset by the hop bitterness. Too bad they don’t make it anymore.

Once poured the head quickly disappears. Strong sweet honey aroma. I have yet to taste a honey beer that has blown me away. Taste is sweet honey and almost wine-ish qualities. Very good for this style. I haven’t tasted one like this before. Extremely refreshing and very well done session style beer. Nice present from a friend who’s father in law got it for him and he shared with me.

Another disappointment fro New Glarus. Pale amber with a weak white head. Sweetness in the aroma, corn, MacIntosh apple, clover honey, malt. Light body and some tackiness in the mouth. The flavor was moderately sweet at the start and finished dry. Better than lutefisk.

Bottled. Clear gold with a white head. Fruity aroma with malt notes and honey. Taste is sweet, sweet, sweet. Lingering honey-like aftertaste.

Light clear gold. Smells like creamed corn. Some malts, sweet with berries. Somewhat creamy.

Bottle at jeffc666’s Birthday Gathering. Courtesy of jeffc666. Golden body with a small foamy white head. Nose is corn and cream of wheat with light berry notes. Taste is corn syrup, light butter, and more cream of wheat. Body is fairly smooth and creamy with a mild carbonation feel. Finishes with sweet malts and corn notes with lots of grain coming through.

Bottle sampled at jeffc666’s B-day gathering 2/6/05: Pale orange color with a small white head. I noted honey, wheat, caramel, and lemon in the aroma - not what I would expect when I see this is billed as having Saaz for the aroma. Taste is sweet, with notes of honey coated malt, metal, and spice. Light bodied and thin.
