Commercial Description:
Since 1516 Brewers have led the purity revolution. They mandated only four natural ingredients be used to brew beer. This Reinheistgebot law was the first ever food purity regulation and New Glarus Brewmaster Dan Carey has consistently respected our palates by employing yeast, water, barley and hops to explore a wide spectrum of flavor. Today Dan pushes the purity envelope by using Organic Hallertau Hops from Germany with Wisconsin organically malted barley to create a complex and assertively hoppy golden ale. This beer is even natrually carbonated, 100% bottle fermented means you can expect a flavor celebration to dance cleanly across your palate. Raise your glass and toast to Wisconsin’s common sense Revolution.

Aroma of herbal hops. Taste is not of honey, slight herbal hop taste. A bit malty, a bit yeasty. Mouthfeel is not heavy. Thinner palate but this fits the hop/malt profile. Extremely drinkable. A good beer for refreshment. Nothing spectacular and lacking complexity.

Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash. Golden, white head, great lacing. Aroma and flavor very similar to the hometown blonde. Pils and honey malt up front, hints of herbal/grassy hops and a big honey aftertaste. Decent but all the honey sweetness does it in for me.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear light orange color. Head was two fingers high with good retention and lacing. Aroma was of grassy hops, white bread, and biscuity malt. Dry and grainy on the tongue with a dominant grassy hop note. There was mild hop bitterness that peaked at 3 out of 10. So so.

Lightly colored, but muddy pour with thin head. Aroma is very weak, some sugary grain notes, but not much else. Flavor is confusing...and not necessarily good either. Grainy, almost cereal-like flavor with strong bitterness throughout...doesn’t jive with the present aroma at all. Very bitter aftertaste. Overall a very bland offering by New Glarus...glad I only bought a single

12oz bottle, courtesy of mj. Thanks, Mike! Pours a light, honey-orange color; thin off-white head with patchy lacing. Light graininess and sugar in the aroma; a bit rough. Medium mouthfeel: grain and sugar and cereal in the aroma; rough / grainy husks are the most dominant character; again, rough, basic, and hard to drink much of this. Probably the most disappointing NG beer I’ve had. Medium, grainy and sugar finish; a bit dry, almost chalky.

12oz bottle - Poured light amber color with small head that faded quickly. This is a pretty decent pale ale with a clean hop finish. kinda of grainy and with a medium mouthfeel.

Pours nice cloudy orange with thin white head. Chunky look with orange fruit aroma... flavor to match with nice sweetness and a bit of peppermint.

12oz bottle courtesy of mtjoseph. Rich orange pour with a thin white head leaving decent lacing. Plenty of particulate floating in there as well. Plenty of light fruity esters on the nose. Apricot and peaches. Some malted barley sweetness. Lightly hoppy on the tongue. Crisp. Light pine and mint. Grass. Not too bad. Not too much there either. Thanks Mark.
