lb4lb (1340), Austin, Texas, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Iowaherkeye. Thanks man!
Pours a nice yellowish color with a moderate lasting whitish head. Smell is pleasant sweet malt, and rather fresh. Taste is somewhat sweet up front followed by a bit of an unpleasant metallic or "organic" flavor. Kind of dull and flavor falls off in the finish, along with a strange unappealing flavor. Perhaps that’s the hops? Doesn’t strike me as a pale ale. Drinkable, but not great.
CaryTheDude (157), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Aug 10, 2008 Gross. Tasted like Red Stripe, cept it’s from Wisconsin and not Jamaica, mon. Stay away. mistersinalin (261), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 30, 2008 Just fine. Were it not for their ablity to brew great beers, I would probably be less forgiving. I’m not sure this is the APA that they are capible of. Homer321 (69), Rockledge, Florida, USA Jul 30, 2008 served on draft at the glarner stube. dark straw color with malt and hops in the nose. Not sure why this is a winter pale ale? hops are earthy with sweetness from the malt that finishes tart. slight caramel notes. not my favorite. marchcow (482), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jul 28, 2008 Sweet malty aroma, honey, light hops. Golden orange color with white head. Flavor is sweet malt, some hay, breat, honey, apples, and light pepperiness. Palate is even - neither heavy nor light. Bitter duration and finish. Pretty good. hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Bottle... Mostly clear, golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head that dissipates in a flash. The nose offers lots of toffee and biscuit malts with lesser notes of perspiration and spicy hops. Medium to full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and ticklish carbonation. Plenty of toffee sweetness overpowers the initial, snappy hop bite. Finishes honey-sweet.
