Commercial Description:
Since 1516 Brewers have led the purity revolution. They mandated only four natural ingredients be used to brew beer. This Reinheistgebot law was the first ever food purity regulation and New Glarus Brewmaster Dan Carey has consistently respected our palates by employing yeast, water, barley and hops to explore a wide spectrum of flavor. Today Dan pushes the purity envelope by using Organic Hallertau Hops from Germany with Wisconsin organically malted barley to create a complex and assertively hoppy golden ale. This beer is even natrually carbonated, 100% bottle fermented means you can expect a flavor celebration to dance cleanly across your palate. Raise your glass and toast to Wisconsin's common sense Revolution.

Clear yellow with a thin white head and some rings of lacing. Smell is really light and has some yeasty character to it and I don’t get any hops in there at all. Very watery and bland. Has some doughy sweetness but not much more. A hint of hops in the finish - it has that slight bitter bite. Palate is thin but it works with the watery and strange base.

This is very drinkable, but nothing extraordinary. Pours a clear gold, small white head. Clean, malty flavor. Subtle and refreshing.

You know what I love about New Glarus? They don’t seem to be too concerned about beer styles. This one’s not really sure if it’s a creamy golden ale or a pale, but whatever it is, I like it. A lot, actually. Golden orange pour with a thin layer of foamy head. Sweet nose with a bit of creaminess and some light fruit. Malt a little more present than hops. Tastes of honey, bread, hops. Bottle conditioning makes for a great mouthfeel. This is not a beer that grabs you hard, but I honestly can’t think of a better go-to session beer than this one. Perfectly balanced. Thanks to James for the bottle. Now if we could only get it in NC...

Perfectly clear darker gold color with a soft white head that retains well and leaves good lacing. Aroma is fairly low on the hops, but there is still some floral hints; I also get a little hint of apple, honeycomb, and some nice pale malt to round it out. Taste gives me some honey bread and floral hops at the forefront, a little pale malt balanced by the hops in the finish. Carbonation is a touch higher than medium with a bit heavier than light body. Pretty good beer, IMO; this one might not knock your socks off, but it is a very well made beer perfect for sessioning. Another success.

Bottle. Slightly foggy, dark golden pour with a thin head. Faint aroma of sweet malt. Pleasant flavor of sweet malt and bitter hop. Slight flavor of alcohol in the finish. Carbonation provides a nice bite. Nothing too exciting, but a very drinkable beer.
