Pours a very nice looking raspberry color with beige/pink head. Aroma of tart raspberry and some farmhouse mixed in. Flavor is very good, raspberry, tartness, some Brett.....Mouth feel is light-med. body, high carbonation. VERY VERY GOOD, I want more.......

Oct 30, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a nice rich red color with a aggressive pink head. Aroma is very bold scent of fresh raspberries. Almost smells like candy...yummy! Flavor is a tart/sour raspberry. Exactly like I expected. It is very effervescent and almost ’’heavy’’. At some points it reminds me of a soda. Very delicious and easy to drink, so much that I downed the whole bottle myself. A great beer that everyone must get their hands on at some point.

Oct 30, 2008 750ml bottle. Had a slight gush of foam when opening. Pours a lovely burgundy with a pinkish head which dissipated. Smell was concentrated raspberry and veggie. Maybe a little sour. Wonder if this one sat too long. Taste was sour raspberries. Mouthfeel was sticky sweet and very carbonated. Decent, but not as good as expected. Will give another go when I get a bottle again.

Oct 20, 2008 Bouquet is raspberry in abudance. Deep clear red pour, dark pink head, some lace. Raspberry is all over the flavor. Very sweet, but not without tartness. A chocolate malt undertone hides underneath the fruit. Soft, tiny bubbles on the palate. Thick, borderline syrupy.

Oct 19, 2008 Bottle, sampled at RBSG 08. Pours a deep, brown-red, with a pink head. Huge raspberry aroma. Sweet and tart raspberry taste. Lingering sweetness. Very tasty raspberry beer.

Oct 12, 2008 A little difficult for me. A fresh fruit taste just does not fit with me and beer. Other than than that, the raspberry taste is so fresh and tart my wife who hates beer, and loves wine coolers loves this, obviously hints at how well New Glarus pulls this off that I need to remind myself that something like this is a great thing to have on hand so that you have something for everyone.

Oct 9, 2008 Updated: Dec 27, 2009Aroma is intense berry, color is a brilliant ruby. Fantastic taste that reminds me of a raspberry infusion dessert wine that I’ve had before. The description says it all, tart raspberry. Sourness is balanced out nicely with the sweet malt base; also a hint of oak. There’s just the slightest hint of bitterness. Nice clean tart finish. I think this is a small step below the Belgian Red, but not by much.

Sep 28, 2008 murky dark cloudy deep red pour, very interesting look. A big fluffy pink head. Aroma is a slap in the face of smashed raspberries, and sugar. Flavour is like a very sweet raspberry compote, but the finish has a nice tangy tartness, this is a superb beer!
