Tart raspberry aroma and flavor, and unlike 99% of other fruit beers it’s not too sweet. Nice beer for chocolatey desserts. undsioux7 (555), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2007 This is similar to the beligian red (darker almost purple) but the raspberries give it quite a bit more tart bite to it with a nice raspberry aroma. Another excellent one from New Glarus. ChristianScheffel (4517), Odense, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Muddy red with a light red head. Raspberry juice aroma, fresh and very natural, but with little else. Flavour is of raspberry and tart (surprise!). A very pleasant drink, extremely drinkable despite the thickness, and cleaning the palate in a wonderful way. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Pours a dark red color with a pink head. Aroma is pretty much just raspberries. Flavor is also pretty much just raspberries. Pretty thick on the palate with a decent tart finish. Another great beer from New Glarus. oakbluff (299), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Served out of a bomber on New Year’s Eve into a champagne flute. Pours out a beautiful rich red with a pink head. Smell - WOW. What a nose of raspberry! That nose continues into a kick ass blast of raspberry in the taste. Tart, and sour and sweet at the same time. Medium level of carbonation. I don’t think they could have nailed it any better for the style. I poured a flute for the wife as well to celebrate the night. It was wasted on her as she just couldn’t handle the taste. Very surprising and disapointing, but what are you going to do? For a woman that’s been fed Surly Furious, Hop Slam and Stone Ruination, you’d think she would appreciate the tartness for what it is. No matter, more for me. I wish there was someone else in the house I could share this with. I won’t chance corking and trying tomorrow- I will just have to bite the bullet and finish myself. I am enjoying this much more than the belgian red, but I think that’s just because I like raspberries over cherries. Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Great tast with some very nice tart at the end pretty good stuff. Not as good as the cherry but still good. Thanks Footbalm for this one. thegreenrooster (1829), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Pour is a nice bright red with a pink head. Aroma is outstanding. No need bringing the glass to your nose you can smell the raspberrys from across the room. Flavor is of course more raspberrys with a super sweet-tart pucker. Super fresh tasting fruit beer.
