Commercial Description:
The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale. Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth-watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

750 ml bottle acquired via trade. Pours deep red with a thick pink head that fades quickly. Aroma is raspberry, a little sour vinous note and some sugar and malt. Flavor is very sweet raspberry, slight tartness to the finish not much complexity, but is there supposed to be? Enjoyable, but only in small doses, much like other fruit beers.

Glorious fruit flavor, nott too fake and not too sour. Like a natural fruit juice with beer. Deliscious. Really cleans your mouth. Bottle from a tasting at the house of chris Montelius

Nose is pungent wild raspberry with just a hint of yeasty beer goodness behind. Taste is huge raspberry sweetness that is mellowed by the wheat and bready yeast. Nothing subtle about this one, very straightforward and perfectly done for what it is. Just a touch of sour tartness on the finish, and the carbonation is perfect to spread the flavors around. No way I could drink an entire 750, but I don’t think that’s the intention. Perfect with brownies and vanilla ice cream.

Appearance: Deep ruby red with small pinkish head Aroma: Tinny metallic aroma with tart raspberry. The tinny aroma faded over time with a little airing. Flavor: Massive tart raspberry. Absolutely delicious.

Bottle via rustychiles’ Wisconsin hookup. Aged approximately 8 months. Pours rather flat and the darkest of ruby reds. Aroma is beautiful unadulterated raspberries and a definitive sourness (moreso than expected). Taste is the tartest raspberry taste that you could imagine, with a rather clean raspberry aftertaste reminiscent of the centers of from See’s candies. Very easy to drink and I can see why this is the gateway sour beer for so many people. Bravo; a must-have.

Pours dark ruby-mahogany with a 1 finger, creamy, grey-pink head that has good retention and leaves specs of lacing. Aroma is really strong raspberry, sweet malt, a lightly toasty cereal, rhubarb and some light herbal/grassy notes. Flavor is sweet raspberry, dusty grass, tart raspberry, rhubarb preserves, light wood notes, a little mustiness and raspberry danish. Finish is raspberry, wood and a little acidic. Palate is light to medium bodied, sticky on the lips yet dry on the palate and with a perfect carbonation level. Good stuff, very good stuff, not quite as good as the Belgian Red and maybe a little too sweet for me, but still fantastic.
