IlanMan (575), Winona, Minnesota, USA Apr 30, 2008 Pour is thick and very dark red. Aroma is extremely strong with mostly raspberry and has a tart finish (I know, original). Drinking this beer is just like eating raspberries. This was a delicious drink that should be shared with someone because it’s a nice thing to do, and also because it is probably too sweet to drink a whole bottle alone. Really liked this one. Would buy again.
EHopper (146), Minnesota, USA Oct 12, 2008 A little difficult for me. A fresh fruit taste just does not fit with me and beer. Other than than that, the raspberry taste is so fresh and tart my wife who hates beer, and loves wine coolers loves this, obviously hints at how well New Glarus pulls this off that I need to remind myself that something like this is a great thing to have on hand so that you have something for everyone. vikingguy (53), Chaska, Minnesota, USA Oct 9, 2008 Fantastic taste that reminds me of a raspberry infusion dessert wine that I’ve had before. Aroma is intense berry, color is cloudy red. I think this is a small step below the Belgian Red, but not by much. robinvboyer (1055), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Sep 28, 2008 murky dark cloudy deep red pour, very interesting look. A big fluffy pink head. Aroma is a slap in the face of smashed raspberries, and sugar. Flavour is like a very sweet raspberry compote, but the finish has a nice tangy tartness, this is a superb beer! maniac (2022), Richmond, Virginia, USA Sep 27, 2008 Bottle at RBSG2008 Grand Tasting on 08/02/2008. Hazy red body with a reddish pink head. Huge raspberry aroma. Very sweet raspberry flavor. Medium body with moderately low carbonation. tomthompson89 (1148), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 25, 2008 Had as a lovely finish to a lovely anniversary. Bottle from Hogtown harry. murcky purplish color, with nice pinkish beige head. nose is totally rasberries, amazing. flavor is tart but with a little sweetness, nice champagne like carbonation. great beer.
