Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

21.05.06 Jimmack Invitational ’06 Thin for a sweet stout, and actually nicely dry. Nothing exciting here, but a solidly ashy, roasty, and mildly lactose infused stout. I never would have guessed oatmeal stout though.

One of the better sweet stouts around. I was quite surprised with this offering from New Glarus, as some of their beers are hit or miss. Very rich and sweet.

Pours a dark chocolate with nice brown head that lingers. The aroma is slightly roasted. The taste is thin with not a lot of body. New Glarus makes wonderful beer, stouts aren’t their thing.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, lactose, some roast and light oats. Tastes of roast, light chocolate, coffee and lactose. Light bitter finish. A tad on the thin side.

Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, lactose, oatmeal, and some vanilla. Taste of chocolate, roast, more lactose, and nuts, with a somewhat thin mouthfeel.

12 oz. Bottle. Aroma was a medium sweet roasted malt. Black body with dark chocolate head. Medium bodied with sweet roast and slight bitterness. Somewhat of a dry palate. Decent brew.

Bottled. Thinner stout, with a quickly-gone head. Deep brown color. Not the best Stout I’ve ever had, but easily drinkable and roasty flavors. Good.

Bottle poured black with a thick but not a very long lasting head. Roasty malt aroma. Flavor is roasty chocolate and coffee. Body is a bit thin with a roasty cofee finish.
