Cant say the name exactly makes you want to shotgun a six pack of this, be that as it may, the beer inside the bottle is a very good stout, and new glarus has yet to let me down. Depsite what it says about serviing at room temp, i drank it ice cold, and that seemed fine to me. Very dark and tasty and smoooooooth. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Brownish black. Sticky puff of sustained beige foam. Richly roasty malts generate robust notes of coffee and smoke. Hints of toffee drizzled nuts and nougat. Softly carbonated. Opens with an amplified metallic tingle which immediately tries to lighten the heavy malt impact, but the ample malt and carbonic softness keep it at bay. Coffee continually gains definition and rids the palate of the sogginess by contributing a dry sharpness. Deeply-rooted velvety smoke barely manages to emerge from the depths of sweetness. Sogginess soon prevails, however, and ends up muting the more vivid malt elements. Lurking sharp roast comes and goes in a flash, due to the ever building sogginess. The persistent richness climaxes at the finish, and though the soggy graininess sticks around, the astringent char does an okay job at thwarting it. Has a nice aroma, but the flavor lacks brightness and is plagued by too much sogginess, as is the case with so many stouts. Lots of potential here, as the coffee and smokiness are seductively deep and sublime. It just fails to come together in the end. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Black, tan creamy head. Dense aromas of dark roastiness, and milk chocolate, with very soft touches of french vanilla coffee and toast. Flavor is lightly burnt and bitter up front, but it slowly evolves into tones of tangy coffee and roasted milk chocolate. Light to medium bodied, fizzy carbonation, bittersweet finish. Decent stout and worth a try.... blkitson (137), Westerville, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Great aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, and cream. Pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly fades to a ring. Quick initial chocolate flavors up front blends well with a nice roasted coffee finish. Hints of burnt malt in the background. One of the better stouts that I’ve had in a while. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2006 Sampled at Noogfest-2. Thanks to Eric. Pours black and opaque. The aroma is strong with coffee and ash. Period. The flavor mimics this aroma with powerful ash, coffee, and roasted malt. Semi-dry, light to medium body. A strong statement if not one dimensional. beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2006 This sweet stout pours a deep black color from a 12oz bottle. Very small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with some dark fruits. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. Malts are chocolate and coffee. LOTS of chocolate and LOTS of coffee. Some vanilla as well. As usual this beer is well balanced and nicely smooth. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
