Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

Bottle courtesy of hopdog! Black bodied with a medium sized foamy brown head. Nose is roasty and chocolaty with obvious coffee notes. Taste is sweet malts, chocolate, light coffee, roasted malts and slightly burnt oatmeal. Body is medium and is damn smooth. Very slick and creamy. Fine carbonation. Finishes with more roasted malts, very soft fruit notes, chocolate, and coffee. Nice beer!

12 oz bottle. Taste is nice and roasty with a sweet graininess to it. Light and mellow body with some coffee and a nice malt/hop balance.

The stream of beer coming from the bottle showed a bit of a red hue to it. In my glass it is almost black, again with a hint of red. A coarse soda like head sat about .75 inches tall and faded, while fizzing like soda, into just a ring with some residuals. Roast aroma with hints of espresso and dark possibly chocolate malts. This beer feels kind of thick in the mouth with the lively carbonation, though I suspect it is actually a tad bit on the thin side. Up front the flavour is unassuming, but it subetly brings itself out in a flavourful chocolate malt with roast coffee and a hint of bittering hops. Letting this beer sit in my mouth for a few moments, the roast flavour pronounces itself more with a bit of a sweet side. The body really is a bit fuller than I had previously feared, which is good considering it is an outameal stout.

A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma is sweet and very roasted, but also with light coffee notes. The flavor is sweet and again very roasted combined with light notes of coffee and chocolate. Nice.

Pours as black as tar with a small head; moderate lacing. a malty, carmely aroma; some coffee, too. Foamy mouth feel and smooth. Moderate malt and hops. One of the better stouts I’ve had as of late.
