Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

Bottle shared by Decaturstevo. Pours deep brown with a nice light brown head. Wonderful aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee grounds, chocolate, and a hint of smoke. Medium bodied with a medium to soft carbonation. Flavor of milk, wet dark grains, chocolate, and nuts. Finishes slightly thin but smooth. Very milk stout like. Nice

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. The nose is grainy and sweet, smellis like lactose, roasty. The flavor is roasty and grainy, sweet, chocolate, coffee. Nice smooth mouthfeel and a coating finish.

On tap at the brewery. Not so much a taste of chocolate as there is a nice dark oatmeal taste, slightly sweet and enjoyable.

Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to Facto for sharing! About midway through the tasting, this one was a very nice refresher. Funny to say that about a stout, perhaps, but it was certainly nice contrast from the sticky, boozy beers that had come before. A nice nose of chocolate and roasts, this had autumn campfire written all over it. Smooth mouthfeel, nice on the palate, a good one overall.

12 oz bottle from Hellomynameis; Nose is chocolate, light coffee, and roasted nuts; hazy very dark brown with a medium beige head; flavor is bitter chocolate and caramel with slighty sweet and then lightly bitter finish. Solid sweet stout! Second bottle 10/28/08 Nose a ;ittle stronger so I will raise the aroma from a 7 to 8 and overall from a 15 to 16.

Bottle. Pours dark, with a deep, chocolate milk colored head. Though it’s classified as a sweet stout, it seems lighter than that. Very smoky, with some burnt malt sharpness. Lots of hops makes this much better.

Bottle. Almost black with substantial head. Aroma is sweet with some roasted nuts, although the first sip is bitter, with heavily roasted malts dominating everything after that. Like drinking a dark-roast Starbucks coffee. Good beer, although not real subtle and maybe a bit one-dimensional with the smoky roast.
