Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep brown/black color with a mocha head that has excellent lacing and a slightly unimpressive retention. Very in your face nose that is overwhelmed by burnt coffee notes and is backed by a subtle bit of chocolate. Wow...the body comes to mind first. A little thinner than I would have expected, not as "slow" as expected. Flavor is almost like chewing on a burnt coffee bean with some vanilla cream flavor thrown in just for fun. Nice stout that I can just sit and sip on for a while.

Bottle courtesy of buckybeer. Thanks!
Pours almost black with ruby highlights and a medium lived light tan head. Smell is roasty malt, light coffee, and some cream. Taste is roasty and just shy of burnt with a light creamy milkiness. Simple, but well made, tasty and very drinkable.

Coffee, toffee, caramel, chocolate, and nuttiness! I am a big fan and I’ll be back to revisit.

Pours dark with a nice beige head, nice head retention with just a little bit of lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is very nice much smoother than i had expected. delightfully chocolaty with coffee and nut overtones. In all gotta love New Glarus.

Excellent stout. Beautiful chocolate brown pour and a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt and faint coffee. Dances on the palate - roasted flavors, stronger coffee than on the nose and some malty sweetness to really balance it off. Excellent. Absolutely delicious. Wish I could get it on a regular basis in MA.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with no real color hues. Aroma is chocolate malt, sweet malt, and some major roastyness. Flavor is creamy sweet dry chocolate malt leading to a bitter dry oat finish, that almost seems a bit acidic. okay.

Nice stout. I’m drinking it at the wrong time of year, but it’s stil pretty impressive. Pours a coca-cola color with a nice brown head. Fairly high carbonation. Aroma is a lot of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavoor is very nice. Smooth on the front end with a lot of that stout bitterness on the back. Easy drinker. Good beer.
