Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

Wow a powerful looking stout and with an pleasant aroma! There is a tannish looking head and the pour seems like this night has some body. Taste is full of chocolate and malt character. Albiet a little thinner than what I was expecting. Definately serve warmer. A nice stout... I just wish that Dan would not pasteurize his beers... But shelf life is improved...but when you have beer this good, does one really expect it to stay on the shelves? GOT STOUT?

luxurious body gives way to silky coating mouthfeel. good start. aroma is plenty strong of chocolate. flavor is the same and sticks around. shocking this is half decent despite the low ABV. this aint too bad at all, though it greets me more as just a nice porter then dark malts based on oats. usually i temper my poor new glarus ratings with the fact that they use locally made ingredients. somehow despite the nice thought it doesnt help my brew seem any more appealing. i split a sampler 12 pack with my brother. we couldnt split the four trios of beers equally so i got only one of these but got stuck with 2 spotted cows. should have known better. this is what i needed right now.

Bottle courtesy TheCheeseMan. Dark brown color with a dense dark khaki head. Light chocolate and nutty aroma, mild roast background. A bit thin on the palate, but the taste is nice, a bit more of the roast comes out to meet the chocolate sweetness. Nice and sessionable.

Bottle. Intense dark brown pour with little head. Aroma mostly of chocolate with notes of coffee and roasted malt. Similar flavor, though more balanced. Creamy mouthfeel with some nice carbonation.

Say... this is tasty. Bottle courtesy of dchmela. Dark, dark brown with half-inch head that dies down to a nice thin layer on top. Sweet malt and oatmeal on the nose with some chocolate notes. More thin than expected on the palate; sweet, with a more chocolate and creamy flavor, though the oatmeal is always present. Odd to be tastin this during the summer, I suppose, but this is a very pleasant beer.

Bottle poured to glass. Pours almost black with a small tan head. Smooth mellow, dark chocolaty roasted notes, with a mild hop aroma. Smooth creamy mouth feel. A nice well rounded stout that is not overly complex or bitter.
