nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Nov 8, 2009 12oz bottle. Filtered looking amber-brown color with a minimal but steady head. Sweet malty aroma with a slight amber touch. Smooth and malt centered, this reminds me of an Alt way more than the NG Alt did. Sessionable all the way, light and creamy on the palate. Medium bodied and delicious. The amber malt begins to shine through after a couple of sips, but remains completely integrated and balanced with the other malts and hops. Subtlely awesome beer. bonk0076 (23), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Nov 7, 2009 Amber in color with a slight head. Flavor has hints of malt and slightly sweet. Smooth finish, very drinkable. MrPickles (108), Wisconsin, USA Nov 3, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep copper color with small white head. Aroma is muted, some sweetness comes through. I think there are some apples coming though. Flavor is pretty balanced, malty and bready with some dry hop spice on the finish. Is a bit more dry than I normally like, but over all another solid NG beer. madvike (301), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 27, 2009 Bottle - Dark copper pour with a generous cream head. Smells sour and bready, with some rich, sweet malt. Some muted, lightly spicy hops peek out from behind the malt. Taste is the same, but with more nuttiness--feels like something you’d drink in from of a fireplace. A bit sugary, but smooth and not cloying. Very nice. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 9, 2009 Pours a deep copper with a thin head and some lace. Aroma is light nutty, toasted malts, carmel sweetness, and an herbal floral hop character. Flavor shows slight hints of diacetyl, but lots of caramel malts, toffee, moderate sweetness, floral and tea-like hops, and a smooth clean finish. Solid for an amber ale. brewcrew2002 (50), USA Jan 6, 2009 Pours a nice dark amber with a large head, light wheat aroma very crisp and good. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Nov 28, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a medium brown with a quickly dissipating head. Flavor is malty and caramelly and somewhat roasty (the way a winter ale should smell). Flavor is also malty and caramelly with some dark fruit tartness. Finish is somewhat metallic. Didn’t taste as good as it smelled, but still a decent offering overall. Moggman (187), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel. Flavor is light and sweet with light crisp finish.
