Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Moderate toasted malt & hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture. Medium bittersweet smooth flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 Thanks to Ughsmash for the bottle. Clear burnt orange color with a medium head. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2008 4/29/2008: Snowshoe Ale has a toasted andfruity maltiness with some caramel. It finishes with a lightly roastiness with some herbal/earthy bitterness. As far as appearances go, Snowshoe has a clear amber color and and thin to non-existent head. This beer has a good palate and texture. Overall this beer is good and sessionable but otherwise doesn’t really stand out. I guess I was hoping for a bit more from New Glarus on this one...

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2008 One of the Tastiest Amber Ales I’ve ever tried! Pours a deep cloudy reddish brown. The beer has a nice fluffy head. The aroma is of spicy hops with some roasty aromas as well. For as much hops as is apparently in there this is one very malty beer. This is however not malty in a fruity, or sweet way at all. This beer is a very dry and plesant beer, with lots of roasted malt flavor with a bit of carmel flavor as well, with a nice bitterness. rudolf (1782), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Bottle from Steve’s. Copper body, white head with nice lacing. Nose is fruity caramel malts, some meladonins, a bit of English hops. Flavor is a rich malt up front, and then a bitter, almost astringent tone comes in. A hint of burnt malt before the really nice caramel & malt finish. A strange beast. notalush (2676), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Thanks to iowaherkeye for this one - clear amber beer, with almost no head - a rather spicy nose, with fruity notes of strawberry, cherry, orange - some floral notes as well - medium-bodied and creamy - biscuity, with mild, but ambiguous fruitiness - a nice combination of hops and peppery spices - some herbal, tea-like flavors - finishes with some mineral and strong spices - quite a nice amber ale.
