Commercial Description:
This authentic amber Irish ale is slow brewed with a blend of three malted barleys and finished with four varieties of hops. Then we dry-hopped in the lager tank to add a spicy note to warm your winter evenings. Expect this beer to be a beautiful copper-red, with a fruity ale body and a spiced hop finish.

Pours a deep copper color with small white head. Very nice lacing. Aroma is muted, some sweetness comes through. Flavor is balanced, malty and bready with some nice hop spice. Chewy palate, but a slightly off on the finish. Not a bad beer.

Clear reddish copper with a frothy white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, cinnamon, baked apple. The flavor is mediocre. Some fruit and a touch of bitterness, but mostly unremarkable.

Amber ale huh? Pours ruby with a thin white head, Strong caramel malt nose with a bit of bread. Flavor is lightly hopped. Caramel malts, honey, biscuit, light fruit. Finishes a bit thin with medium carbonation. Pretty dry.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a clear deep amber color with a one and a 1/4 finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is a toasted caramel malt and earthy hops. Aroma is light malt with a good bit of bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and leaves you smacking your tongue against the top of your mouth. A decent beer. Thanks Bill.

12oz bottle from the brewery. Clear rich amber red colored body. Nose of sweet maple and cherry wood scented malt, light yeast esters and dusty, peppery oak. Flavor is more nutty than expected, with a toasted bread, chestnut, peanut and cracker malt flavor. Sweet but not too sweet, very low bitterness, and the texture is at times frothy and at times a bit watery, mostly in the finish. A decent malty amber/red ale.

12oz bottle, no date. Clear reddish orange with a light beige one finger head, pretty decent retention. Sweet caramel, toast, and earthy toffee dominate the aroma. Hints of raisins, spicy and grassy hops fill out the rest of the nose. So far, so good for this amber. Flavor is a little milder, though still has more flavor than a lot of ambers that I’ve had. Caramel and light spicy citrusy hops are the strongest flavors. Bitterness peaked at a 3. Light creamy carbonation with a medium body. Pretty good amber.

Thanks to the person in my spirit tasting group who left this behind. Poured into a tulip, this beer has virtually no head at all. It does, however, maintain a thin ring of foam around the edge, and a thin wisp of a cloudlike pattern in the middle. The nose has a toasty, biscuit smell that is just too weak. I feel that the lack of carbonation contributes to this. There is a slight caramel malt aroma. The taste is pretty good, especially since amber ales are not my thing. There are toasty and caramelized malts. The hops are light and grassy. The mouthfeel is cloying. I would normally refer to this as the finish, but I just simply do not like it. Drinkability is average. I would suggest this as a crossover beer that I will use to try and lure my father from Kilian’s into the seedy underworld of craft brews. Interesting. The commericial description calls this an Irish ale. So much for the brewer....
From the bottle this poured a clear copper body with a substantial, rocky ecru head that disappears in chunks. The aroma is malty sweet and fruity with apples and cherries and has a light floral bouquet. The flavor holds more fruitiness than maltiness and has a moderating earthy/herbal bitterness to it. Quaffable.
