Aroma is muted, some sweetness comes through. I think there are some apples coming though. Flavor is pretty balanced, malty and bready with some dry hop spice on the finish. Is a bit more dry than I normally like, but over all another solid NG beer.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of Roy’s Market (New Glarus, WI). Pours a nearly clear, lighter and duller copper, a big offwhite bubbly head starts to die to a decent layer, laces a bit. Aromas are toasty malts, biscuits and a bit of nut, caramel, with some floral hops, a touch of spice, really quite pleasant. Hops grow a bit, throw a little citrus, grass. Initial is lighter side of medium bodied, quite sessionable, with a nice initial malty base, toasty, biscuits, caramel coat the palate as a small yet fitting floral hopping helps to balance, a bit of lemon, and a bit of spiciness on the back end. A good Amber ale without an overbearing malt profile... this beer gets it’s point across, yet still remains fairly balanced and a decent hopping for what it is. A pretty good amber/irish styled ale. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2009 12oz bottle served in a shaker. Clear copper pour with a thin head of tan foam that quickly settled. Pretty good looking lace. The aroma consisted of caramel, fresh toasted bread, and some faint citrus. The flavor had chewy malt, caramel, toast, light citrus, and faint herbal hops. Nice balance of sweet malt and bitterness. Medium-bodied and lightly carbonated. Another pedestrian amber ale. Decent enough I guess. beernbourbon (275), chicago, Illinois, USA

Light malt, light hop, light spiciness, and a faint nutmeg aroma. Flavor is lightly malty, faintly hoppy, a mild cranberry flavor, and a bready finish. Quite drinkable, but not that flavorful. Nice malty flavor, yet light. Well matched hopping that combines bitterness and spice. nuplastikk (1191), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2009 12oz bottle. Filtered looking amber-brown color with a minimal but steady head. Sweet malty aroma with a slight amber touch. Smooth and malt centered, this reminds me of an Alt way more than the NG Alt did. Sessionable all the way, light and creamy on the palate. Medium bodied and delicious. The amber malt begins to shine through after a couple of sips, but remains completely integrated and balanced with the other malts and hops. Subtlely awesome beer.
