Commercial Description:
Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones.

slightly hazy amber body, fizzy small white head. Nice aroma with overripe banana, cloves, wheat, maybe some orange. The flavor adds roughly the same to the tongue, but with a slight sourness and a ripe banana finish. Slightly thick mouthfeel. Very good.... caught me off-guard.

Hazy golden yellow with a tight white head. Glas lacing is very nice. The aroma is lots of banana, sweet bubblegum, wheat and lots of spice, mainly clove. Excellent flavors, one of hte best flavor profiles I have yet had in a hefe. Sweet, wheat, clove, banana. all of that. Damn fine. The body is also very nice, medium not too thick not too thin. Overall a lovely beer.

Bottle: My long search is over for this beer on my last Wisconsin beer run. The pour is slightly hazy with a golden hue and small frothy head. The aroma has notes of banana and lemon esters, bubblegum, aromatic hops, clove, and wheaty overtones. The taste is this beer's highlight indeed, lots of what I expect in the best of the genre, fruits, wheat, and sublime spice. Tartness on the midsection add depth with the lingering spice finish. The feel is perfect as a refreshing brew with very good depth of palate. Prost New Glarus on this one for this is the finest example of the style found outside the German borders (still brewed) !!! A must try for any Hefe fan.

My son attends school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and the New Glarus Brewing Company is located in New Glarus Wisconsin which is about 25 miles south of Madison. So of course I had to check out this wonderful little brewery. Let me say that ALL of the beers in the New Glarus line-up are excellent! Just pick out your favorite style of beer and sample. You won’t be disapointed. This Bavarian-style Hefeweizen is the best I have ever had. (Although Weihenstephaner and Ayinger are very close seconds) This beer has a rather unique taste of wheat and malt creaminess that is hard to explain unless you sample it yourself. I have given this beer a perfect score until I can find another Hefeweizen beer that can beat it out for the top honors. If you’re into Hefeweizen beers this is a "must try".

Lovely cloudy yellow w/ apricot hue. Soft, fluffy light tan head. Robust, perfect aroma of banana, lemon, vanilla, cream & clove. Light, somewhat grainy feel. Complex yeasty flavour of banana, lemon & clove. Dry, peppery finish.

A wheaty, lemony aroma with other summertime smells that I could not distinguish. The body was cloudy with a yellow color too it, and the head was thin and white. A lemony, wheaty, bannana taste. A very think, chewy mouthfeel. A nice summer beer.

12oz bottle-#900-pours a light orange/apricot hue with nice spritzy white head. lots of lemongrass, bananana, clove, and other spices on the aroma. The aroma was very good for a hefe, but nothing out of the ordinary, just very robust and in your face. flavros are slightly sour, banana, orange. The flavor is very complex and i had some hard times finding what was truely here in the flavor. luckly, i have some more bottles of this and i will update. long banana finish. Very good hefe here!
