Commercial Description:
Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones.

I’ve had this beer a couple times although it’s been a while. I found a spoiled bottle in my crisper yesterday. Cloudy amber color avg sized fluffy white head w/ decent lacing. Aroma of wheat light bread dough a touch of banannas and some spices maybe nuts. Palate was nice & full. Flavor was shot.. I remember this being a much better beer...

Bottle shared by <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>beerhugger, thanks Steve. Light copper in colour, thin white head circle, some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, some apples and bananas, light spice and yeast. The flavour is much the same as the aroma, turning tart and spicy. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes spicy, some light cloves and lots of lingering bananas. Not to bad.

Poured a reddish orange color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy yeast, some cheesiness, lots of spices, predominantly clove, and some light banana as well. Taste of some light, tart, citrusy wheat, light banana, and clove dominated. A really nice hefe, would have appreciated more banana, and slightly less clove. Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one!

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with CaptainCougar, thanks Tom!) Whoa, this smells like a banana milkshake! With aromas of sweet vanilla, banana, clove, and I think some nutmeg too, boy, is this drawing me in. Lots and lots of sweet banana and vanilla tends to dominate the flavor early. Wheat malt becomes more noticeable in the mid-palate after the sweet banana/vanilla moderates a bit. And to round out the beer, there’s quite a lot of clove and some mild tartness in the finish, though the sweetness never relinquishes its hold. This beer has a heavy and nearly syrupy body, which is nice at first, but does tend to cloy the palate after awhile. Dark golden orange in color, and nearly fully cloudy. The small off-white head dies down fairly quickly and soon the beer has no cap whatsoever, not even a small ring. This is certainly a tasty beer, and you have to have a sweet tooth to really enjoy this beer, but with how sweet and thick the beer is, it’s pretty far outside the realm of authentic German Hefeweizens. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this very much.

Thanks to goldtwins for this brew.

Poured an effervescent yellow with a tall white head. Strong aroma of banana and a touch of cinnamon. Taste is banana, cloves, cinnamon, and some vinous character with a rather dry finish for a hefe. Very drinkable and delicious.

Cloudy orangey deep gold. Quickly diminishing white head leaving a small cover. Heavy wheat and banana nose, almost caramelly sweetness. Honeymelon and bubblegum procure even more sweetness while the yeasty notes reminds of band-aids. Quite medicinal, focusing primarily on banana, slightly woody and deceptively lightly carbonated. I didn’t quite seize the hype here, but this may have been a bit old. Thanks CaptainCougar.

Strong banana and bubblegum in the aroma. Cloudy tawny-copper with low white head that recedes to ring. Bubblegum, banana and nail polish tones to the wheaty flavour. Very syrupy body with low carbonation leaves this one feeling somewhat heavy in the mouth. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.
