Commercial Description:
Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones.

Pours a hazy golden color with a white ring of lace. Aroma of bananas with lingering sweetness. Candy flavor with wheat and yeast. Light body, creamy texture, very soft carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of MrFacto. Pours straight golden with ring of bubbles. Huge yeasty banana aroma with lots of spice. Initial flavor is all banana with some clove in the finish. Very yeasty/chewy body. Very fine brew.

The Lure:
Enchanting bubblegum notes emulsified in sweet banana purée. Honest cloves embark on a long journey to seek out some peaches, and other miscellaneous fruit.

The Festivities:
The low carbonation is probably a sign of the age of this weizen (1-year-old). Joyful sweet candy and yeast-laden bananas fade into a subtle finish, which isn’t spicy or refreshing. As is right now, this bottle is a tad too sweet, and recalls more of an American take of the hefeweizen style than an authentic example. Will have to taste really fresh next time, as I feel like I missed something with all those great ratings.

Transcendence:
I am less of sweet tooth when summer is in full swing.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Strong wheat, light banana, and light clove in the aroma. Pours a cloudy dull orange with a small white head. Strong banana presence in the flavor. Finishes somewhat smokey with light clove. Smokiness lingers into the aftertaste mixed with the banana.

Bottle from Styles. Light yellow colored and just a touch cloudy. No head. Clove, bananna and a touch of smoke in aroma. Light bodied, decently carbonated. Requisite flavors for a decent wheat beer. Decent.

I forgot to swirl the bottle before opening at the Noogfest. The body was lightly hazy with a bright quality. The aroma of banana and clove was very pronounced. The taste of bananas and clove was very nice. The full body finished spicy with a hint of bell pepper.

Thx to MrFacto for bringing this to the ’05 Noogfest yellowish orange w/ a white head. Great fruity, crisp, tangy flavor. A very nice hefster

Hazy yellow (light gold). Nice sweet fruity banana aroma. Huge fruity banana flavor, with a good clove balance. Some spices and just enough malt provide a good balanced strong back to this beer. Really good stuff
