Commercial Description:
Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones.

Bottle acquired in trade with robsreality (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy orange/amber color with an averaged sized head (that quickly disappeared). Fruity and sweet aromas. Tastes of bubblegum, wheat, light bananas and light citrus. Clean and crisp finish. I enjoyed this one.

12 oz bottle (thanks Hezron). Clear gold with a nice head that turned south quick. Idk what’s with NG and head retention but I don’t think I’ve come across a good one yet. Aroma is banana and spices. Taste is much of the same but a more hopped up hefe than I was expecting. That is a good thing. The bad thing is that it is still a bit too sweet. Too much banana and sweet malt. I prefer something a bit drier in this style but it’s still pretty damn good. I can be critical, can’t I? Note to self...get out to NG this Summer.

Clover honey and bananas greet you in the aroma. Fairly flat pour. Cloudy, 14K gold in color. Flavor is sweet like a breakfast cereal, malty wheat, fruits are hanging around - bananas and pears, complemented by a tangy tart bitterness. Thanks to Mr Facto for the sample.

04.25.05 12oz bottle thanks to MrFacto. Smallish white head fades quickly above a totally clouded gold. Light streams of persistent bubbles stream to escape this beer, but I can’t figure out why. If I was a bubble, I’d happily drown in this sickeningly delicious brew. Big aromas of vanilla, banana, grape, hints of citrus and spice. Phenolic as all get out. Tasty flavors of wheaty cereal, breakfast with bananas and cream, citrus hints, lightly tart. Body is soft and full, but light. Acidity and sweetness balance beautifully to make this a joyous mouthful. Excellent.

Pours a nice cloudy golden with a big fizzy layer of egg-shell white head that fades quickly. Clove, banana, apricots, bready yeastiness, and a spicy earthy aroma. Just a bit of leather. Spicy lemony flavors. Very bright and lively on the palate. Hint of bubblegum in the finish. Full flavored and fragrant, without having one trait dominating the experience, or out-of-control phenolic character. A very classy well-balanced beer, and the nicest hefeweizen I’ve tasted! Thanks hezron!

Poured a hazy gold color with a small off-white head. Aromas of light malt, yeasty, dough, banana, and a touch of lemon. Flavors of banana with a light citrus finish. Clove on the tail end. Lightly sweet upfront. Long finish, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. (I feel this was a good 400th even though it was supposed to be Peche Mortel)

I had this awhile back and forgot to enter it. I found the rating. Here it is: Appearance: Cloudy, fizzy, frothy white head. Medium dissapating. Amber in color. so-so lacing. Aroma: Moderate dough, nutty grain, typical wheat beer aromas. Palate: Medium body, milk like texture. Fizzy carbonation. Flavor: Light sweetness, wheaty, light nutty flavor. Nice long wheat beer finish. I wonder if I should add lemon...

Cloudy yellow and orange with a white head and active carbonation. This beer looks like a Hefe. Aroma is very much a combonation of wheat and yeast. Four and fregrant, it’s not hard to determine that this is wheat based beer. Flavor is full of wheat charisteristics and some nuttyness plus a sharp citrus fruit presence that sits at the front of the tongue. Very clean feel and medium body.
