Pour was golden with ample carbonation, head was quite small, though, lacing unimpressive. The aroma was gentle, probably too gentle, graininess, some light fruity esters. Flavor followed suit, and thinking this was a golden/blonde ale, was in want of light hop support. Cream ale, blonde ale, whatever, it was boring and bland, although plenty drinkable if that’s your sort of thing. I actually like Anchor’s Steam Beer better, much more character. theisti (1666), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2007 12 oz bottle from Dansting. Pour is a very slightly hazy pale yellow with a minimal white head. Aroma is faint, though I do pick up on some graininess. Based on the description, I assume this is corn. Taste is a bit of fruit sweetness initially, and then a bit blah in the middle. Nice drinkable beer, but not too much going on here. Smooth palate, and a good clean finish, though. Easily the best Cream Ale I have had. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

And frankly this is the one I hear most about here is Southern Wisconsin... I’m not really sure why. It is by no means bad but in all reality, this is a incredibly average beer. I will say this for it though. This is a very accessible beer for your Big Three drinker though. Start them on this and they may continue down the craft beer road. fuzzy82 (17), Decatur, Illinois, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2007 Ok the corn ingredient kind of put me off as I know Bud, Miller et al use that as a cheap alternitave to something like say wheat or barley. Yet I couldn’t dislike this one at all. It not very cream but it is a slightly friuty ale that is quite pleasent. Nothing to knock a back over for, but a plesent summer drink. Aroma is light and grainy with a slight fruit essence detectable. Flavor is grainy and bland. Boring is the word. I love these guys, but this is a waste of time jstraw (766), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2007 DRAFT Cloudy orange-gold with faint white head / Sweet, malt and orange nose / Medium body with low carbonation and hops, and fair finish / Sweet flavor of honey with undertones of oranges and flowers / Likely a fine example of a simple style. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy, pale orange with a thin lacy head. Aroma is dominated by citrus and hops alongside a mellower note of barley and earth. Taste is medium-bodied (though much heavier than I’d expected) with a mild creamy and sweet flavor with a finish of earthy flavors like corn, barley, and yeast. While not a knockout like some of New Glarus’s others, Spotted Cow is still a unique and enjoyable beer.
