The flavor was good with a grassy aroma and a tart bite to it. But with no head at all - none- and no carbonation, the mouthfeel was really weird and off-putting. It was like drinking a lemonade. Ugh. I’ll give this another try, I did get it in a pick-your-own-6 deal so maybe it was sitting on the shelf for a few years and the store was trying to get rid of it. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Poured a cloudy gold color with a quickly evaporating white head. No lacing. Aroma was yeast, sweetness and some slight sour funk. The flavor was yeast, corn and slightly sour fruit. The body was thin to moderate and the finish was decent. Felt like a slightly funky hefe. modalnails (43), boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Another pretty good New Glarus beer. Cloudy, tastes like there’s corn juice in the bottle with the yeast (is there?). But that sweetness is good, and goes to a good beer for warm Wisconsin summer days. Sampled from the keg and in a bottle. A good standby if there’s nothing but Spotted Cow and the usual swill at the tavern (often the case in SE WI, where the choice is Cow, Miller Lite, MHL, MGD, and Bud Light). biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Draft (NG Hotel) Pours a cloudy & bubbly golden yellow color with a bit of white head. Aroma is yeast, malt, some fruitiness and a little corn. Taste is much the same - fruity, wheat and some nice malts. This won’t knock your socks off, but is a very solid and enjoyable beverage - particularly on a hot summer day. TURDFERGUSON (1606), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

So this is listed as cream ale here, but it says farmhouse ale on the bottle. I guess farmhouse is a pretty broad style so maybe it includes cream ales beacause cream does come from a farm afterall. Spotted Cow pours a hazy orange golden with no head. Nose and flavor is predominantly buttery corn with some sweet malts and a little fruit detected. As this is my first cream ale, I dont know what this is supposed to taste like. Its an ok beer, and I think its pretty well made (at least I’ve come to expect that from New Glarus). dkoonce (889), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
