Full malty taste with a hint of biscuit/graininess. I enjoy drinking this one each year. Not my absolute favorite, but still a winner in my opinion. Clear as a bell red/amber with a long lasting head. The caramel aspect really shines through with this beer. Hops are present, yet not in the fore front. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma and flavor is mild sweet malts, caramel, light spice and tart nuttiness. Pretty much a basic Oktoberfest which is not a bad thing. Very solid overall. Pours a bright coppery amber with an initial foamy head, but fades over time to nothing. Aroma is lightly toasted malts, sweet, herbal and spicy hops with a touch of white wine. Light toasted malts, vienna, and a touch of sharp crystal malt sweetness. Body is a bit on the weakside, but otherwise this is a pretty solid o-fest. Petrucci914 (583), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Pours a dark prestine amber. Aroma is of caramel and roasted malts. Taste has a hint of caramel at first, then some bittnerness, and followed by the roasted malts. A bit too rich for me, but still good. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 5, 2007 12 oz bottle bought in WI at some liquor store i’ll put in here when i remember or when andrew bms me (whatever comes first) Pours a clear orange read with a white head that quickly fades to a ring. Nose isn’t too much to speak of. Toasted malts, marzen, carmel, and a touch of spice. Marzen carmelled flavors. Nutty and toasted with a finish that slightly bitter cloying and dirty. Hmm, I’m not usually a fan of this style, so hey maybe its me. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2007 12oz, no date--though I know it’s been bottled within the last month. Clear orange with hints of brown with a 1/2 finger off-white head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malts, caramel, and only a hint of floral hops. Flavor was fairly sweet--as most Oktoberfests are--and I couldn’t really pick up on any hops. Lots of caramel in the flavor along with some light toasted nuts and malts. Very low bitterness. Moderate creamy carbonation with a medium body. A very well-made Oktoberfest. BDR (2160), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 4, 2007 A treat. My favorite of this season, or for ANY year’s for that matter. A thick, hearty beer. Pours a rich orangey copper with a creamy light tan head. Steady carbonation, but it doesn’t make it spritzy or light; the thickness still holds up. Laces well. Aromas are a toasted nut lovefest. Enough sweetness to be observed and appreciated without distracting or detracting. FUll malty body. Hops barely temper things out as wanted. Again, full-bodied, creamy, nutty, toasty, malty. Forget the dubbels and Belgians, THIS beer is a meal in a glass.
