Commercial Description:
Who is qualified to judge one's contribution? Is it the pure Wisconsin barley malt or shall credit be given to traditional German and English hops? Maybe it is the Belgian Monastic yeast or the Brewer's tender care? Combined, this is a sophisticated Abbey style ale. Both elegant and drinkable this ale is cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish. Fermented natually in this bottle, the beer in your hand is a living testament to the value of many working together to create something bigger than the individual parts. Moving a mountain begins with a single stone.

May 13, 09 bottle date. Banana and clove with some black pepper in the nose. Dark gold color with a short lived head and active carbonation. Good clarity. The taste is banana, apple, toasted grain, ginger and black pepper. Soft mouthfeel. Finishes dry with a lingering bit of hops bitterness and/or alcohol, I can’t discern. Enjoyable enough, but...

Nose of banana and clove. Soft sweetness and bready malts. Pours light golden with a decent head. The flavor is sweet, lightly spicy with hints of banana and a bready malt base. Easy drinking, rather simple.

This one poured a bright yellow color with a big white head. Aroma was yeasty, some sweet belgian sugar, spices, and some bready notes. Flavor was a bit disappointing compared to the aroma. Flavors mainly of cara malt, candy sugar, and slight spices, but a bit bland

Bottle thanks to allendodd. Pours hazy light golden, with medium rocky head in a tulip glass, which dissipates very quickly. Aroma of grass, soap, spice, yeast, and citrus. Flavor is light but delicious. Crisp without too much sharpness. I love this brewery.

Pours pale yellow with thin head. Highly carbonated. Strong banana aroma. Light on flavor. Some sweetness, some spice. Low on hopping as expected. Okay, but not my favorite New Glarus.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is clove, banana, grain, apple, spice and light caramel. The taste follows the aroma with a subdued yeast flavor and a bit more spices. There is some strong carbonation to this one. This isn’t the biggest or most unique example of the style but it’s extremely drinkable
