Commercial Description:
Who is qualified to judge one's contribution? Is it the pure Wisconsin barley malt or shall credit be given to traditional German and English hops? Maybe it is the Belgian Monastic yeast or the Brewer's tender care? Combined, this is a sophisticated Abbey style ale. Both elegant and drinkable this ale is cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish. Fermented natually in this bottle, the beer in your hand is a living testament to the value of many working together to create something bigger than the individual parts. Moving a mountain begins with a single stone.

12 oz bottle. Cloudy orange with average white head. Spicey, clovey aroma with lots of sweet light malt, belgian yeast. Banana taste upfront, grainy, spice, med to large sweetness, lots beligian qualities. Med body with fizzy carb that mellows to a huge creamyness. A very nice New Glarus beer.

Pours a hazy lemonbar yellow with a head of snow white cushion. Minimizes to a milky swirl. Laces nicely. Aromas of sugary bubblegum and cotton candy. Spicy pepper and some hints of medicinal esters. Flavors have some bubblegum with some crackly peppercorn. Malts are firm with a sweetbread character. Yeastiness is pleasing with a candied Belgian strain; gives a nice solid individuality. Busy carbonation scrubs the palate clean and allows for some sugared burping action. A good drinker. Nice.

I’m not sure what kept me from rating this beer higher. Like NG Yokel, it’s not meant to be anything more than a "drinkable ale beer." This is a above average Abbey. Now only if they’d make a trippel from this foundation :)

Lightly hazy pale golden pour. Thin, fully diminishing, white oily head. Fresh yeast tumbles in with the first whiff, followed by fresh hops, spicy phenols, coriander, pepper and lemon notes. The noble hop aromas and light grain scents are great. the nose is very sweet, very appetizing. The flavor is mildly to medium sweet, with light acidity and adequate hoppy bitterness. Light astringency clears the back of the throat. Finishes with sweet malt notes, a touch of caramel, hops, lemon and a little doughy malt. Mouthfeel is laden with spritzy carbonation buried under a syrupy, malty, medium-sized body. Decent, moderately drinkable.

12 oz bottle rating. Witbier color. Cloudy pear colored with a quickly diminishing white head. Aroma of heavy spice, banana, coriander. Nice gentle flavors hit the palate. Very well done. With this style, it isn’t intended to be big and bold flavored, but it is still well done. Not being a huge fruit beer fan, I tend to prefer NG non fruit beers that they make. This one fits perfectly in that category. Thanks Islay for picking this up!

12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a larger sized white head. Aromas of spices (cloves, ginger, and light pepper), lightly fruity and some citrus. Tastes of fruitiness (sweet apples) with lighter spiciness. Lively body.

Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a cloudy, dark yellow with a small white head. Big, spicy citrus aroma, alot of orange, maybe some cinnamon or coriander in there too. The taste is very much like the smell. Big spice character, sweet citrus, candy sugar, sweet malts. Big flavor, kind of dances on the taste buds. Some clove or nutmeg, couldnt decipher which, showed up in the finish as well. i liked this beer.
