| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Poured from bottle a dark yellow color with a little white head to it. Has a sour barley smell to it. Taste just like your average Belgian ale. Not bad but nothing special either. beernbourbon (316), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Bottle. pour is slightly cloudy golden color with medium white head. Aroma is spicy, hints of malt, mild clove, distant hops, and banana. Flavor is spice, banana, light caramel malt, and wheat. This really does have some wheat ale or hefe characteristics. Very good, but if you put dancing man wheat and this side by side, I bet they would be hard to tell apart. Hopefully ill get more of both and try it. Maybe i’m wrong. nickd717 (1393), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Bottle via trade. Cloudy golden-straw color with a small white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, yeast, and spices. Flavor is wheaty and yeasty with banana, clove, and ginger. Somewhat reminiscent of a German hefe, although it does lean more toward the Belgian side. Nice creamy palate. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Pale yellow-golden colour. Hazy with a thin white head. The aroma is lovely. Soft spicy/fruity nose with a prominent apricot/peach backnote. Pale Belgian malts and a kiss of light cinnamon. A touch of light banana flavour but it isn’t sweet at all. A touch of earthiness on the back. Not a bad Belgian at all. Wheaty body with a creamy palate. The spice picks up as it warms. cheapdark (2049), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Big bad ass thanks goes out to canIhave4beers for this nifty selection. Hazy pale yellow leaning on vanilla in color. Thin head that stays. Slight sweet volatile aroma. Interesting almost tart almost candy palate and tongue. Almost a bitter bite to it but not at all on the hoppy side. Fresh and haylike at times along with some of that fresh cut grass feel. Fun and clean and laid back in the mouth. Has an inkling of that clean pond water from beaver county. Finish is fresha nd clean spring water. Overall decent beer experience. First thought this was a lighter hefe, then thought it was a belgie white now I see its just a belgie. Has many of the attributes of a good belgie, but come on, ...Orval? nuplastikk (1252), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2009 12oz bottle. Murky orange color, standard head. The aroma has some clove-lemon, and herbal funkiness. Lots of herbal, spicy flavors washed in golden malt sweetness. Medium bodied and quite drinkable on one side, but full of flavor and complexities on the other. Smooth, farmhouse-like, with a nice barnyard wheat taste. Some mild citrusy ginger. Excellent beer. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Yet another nice offering from New Glarus that was shared by Terminus. Pours clear golden with a pillowy white head. The aroma has banana esters, earthy yeast, lightly toasted malt, cloves and dry spice. Light clean crisp body with lively sharp carbonation. The flavor starts like the aroma and is very clean and smooth. The finish delivers with some distinctive spicy hops. It is also lighter on the banana and has some light smooth orange traits. Very nice. Slipstream (785), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Thanks to my cousin for passing another fine New Glarus release on to me. Stone soup is some kind of children’s story, isn’t it? The label was intriguing, but the beer inside did not quite live up to the Careys’ comments. Hazy tan pour. Sweet floral amd malt aroma. Tastes like a hefe, but with some unusual flavor notes - wheat and biscuit flavor up front, followed by citrus and ginger, and then a clean finish. This is fresh and enjoyable, and another fine brew from New Glarus. Is there any chance they will have wider distribution?
