Commercial Description:
Who is qualified to judge one's contribution? Is it the pure Wisconsin barley malt or shall credit be given to traditional German and English hops? Maybe it is the Belgian Monastic yeast or the Brewer's tender care? Combined, this is a sophisticated Abbey style ale. Both elegant and drinkable this ale is cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish. Fermented natually in this bottle, the beer in your hand is a living testament to the value of many working together to create something bigger than the individual parts. Moving a mountain begins with a single stone.

Cloudy golden with thin white head. Aroma of yeast, banana and cloves. Flavor malty, with yeast, clove and ginger. Very spicy, somewhat acidic. Dry yet refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body with a white 3 finger head. Wheat, lots of coriander and orange peel notes, light spices and lots of fruity esters. Some light clove and cinnamon with a thin body. Bubble gum banana notes. Not to sweet or cloying, a nice brew.

12oz bottle from Woodman’s in Madison. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is banana, clove, spices and yeast. Flavor is banana, clove, spices, light citrus and with some yeast. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel. Very good for style. No real negatives but nothing makes me say wow either.

Very reminiscent of Hoegaarden, which is a good thing in my opinion. Pours a very light yellow with a thin head. Aroma of clove and ginger and other fruity notes. Very tasty, with the aforementioned flavors coming through strongly, along with citrus notes. A very refreshing summer beer.

12oz bottle via trade. Pours a lightly hazed glowing medium yellow with a fluffy white head. Nose is very fruity with some citrus, banana, lots of sweet Belgian funk. Flavor was also very fruity and sweet with lots of lemon peel and banana. Lots of Belgian yeast in there as well. Finish is crisp and dry.....

12 oz bottle courtesy of Discount Liquors (Milwaukee, WI) from my trip in February. Pours a hazy straw with some gold darker notes, a big white bubbuly head, well carbonated, that dies to a small layer, laces a bit. Aromas feel a little like a Belgian/Hefe hybrid, throwing some light banana, a touch of citrusy lemon, and light clove with a touch of Belgian spicey yeast. Not bad. A nice underlying sweetness, fruity largely. Initial is light bodied, but a fairly full flavor, Belgian yeast sweetness of apple, banana, and a touch of pear with clove, light on the palate but flavorful, without any overbearing sweetness that I tend to get in many Belgians. Delicate, yet enjoyable. Throws a pleasant sweetness throughout, into the finish, with light bitterness to balance. A very well done Belgian Ale that gets away from some elements that make me a little wary and not a huge fanboi of them. I would and hope to drink this again. Cheers!

Thanks KI9A. Pours a cloudy gold with a lot of visible carbonation. A light gold head is large and has good retention. It fades with a craters of the moon effect. A sweet wheat and yeast aroma with clove. This tastes very much like a hefeweizen with yeast. It offers banana and clove with that yeast in the background. In the mouth it is creamy smooth. Finish is just a bit tangy with some orange notes appearing. A plus for this beer is the lack of Belgian candi sugar which gives a less sweet beer a lower ABV. A fine offering by the New Glarus folks!

Pours a slightly hazy yellow, quick fading frothy white head with a very very high carbonation rate. Aroma is very fruity - banana and pear seem to come through most, a light touch of clove and light spicy hops. Banana and clove notes hit first in the flavor and moves into a light pils flavor and finishes with a very smooth sweet ending. Beer density is moderate and the carbonation pops in your mouth. Overall a very enjoyable brew with the sweetness and spices really working well together in this offering.
