Commercial Description:
Who is qualified to judge one's contribution? Is it the pure Wisconsin barley malt or shall credit be given to traditional German and English hops? Maybe it is the Belgian Monastic yeast or the Brewer's tender care? Combined, this is a sophisticated Abbey style ale. Both elegant and drinkable this ale is cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish. Fermented natually in this bottle, the beer in your hand is a living testament to the value of many working together to create something bigger than the individual parts. Moving a mountain begins with a single stone.

Courtesy of pfoxyjohn. This pours an orange color with a big fluffy white head that does settle down rather quickly with minimal retention. Aroma is banana, cloves and yeast, fresh smelling, and reminds me of a warm summer day. Nothing flashy about this beer but it’s a nice, very refreshing drink. Tastes a lot like a triple without the extra alcohol kick. The flavor has a nice spice in there which goes well with the fruity and clove flavors. Solid beer and thanks pfoxyjohn!

Cloudy medium gold colored body with a bright white head. The smells are strong bananas and mango. There is also some light hint of clove. The taste is sweet and pleasing, almost like a spiced up hefe. There is definite banana and some clove spice in the finish. The taste is also hinting at some bread crust and a little bit of mango. Nice and easy drinking, NG continues to impress.

Courtesy fantomas23. The pours a hazy golden yellow color with a small, bubbly white head that quickly dissipates. The aroma shows a lot of banana and clove along with some candy sugar sweetness, and some spicy floral hops. The flavor follows the same way with the banana and candy sugar up front with their sweetness, but then balanced out by the spicy floral hops and clove on the backend. Medium bodied and pretty easy to drink, but maybe just a bit too much carbonation. A nice solid belgian ale.

12oz bottle, thanks to Guerde. Pours hazy yellow golden, with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, with notes of fruit, candi sugar, and some yeast. Flavor is similar to the aroma, with sugar, fruit ( mainly plum and nectarine), yeast, and spice. Very mild hops enter towards the finish. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Another solid brew from New Glarus.

Very pale, transparent but hazy, with lively carbonation. A worldly brew with estery Belgian yeast aromatics and hints of German hops. Has a wonderfully fruity and spicy nose. Clove and ginger are detectable; has traces of banana and an overarching gumball character. Flavor is good but is not equal to the aroma. Tastes of banana, clove, citrus, earthy hops, bread, and has a mild spiciness. Finishes semi-dry with a lingering trace of sugar. A sweet, fruity beer.

Pours a cloudy gold, with a fizzy, short-lived head - slightly yeasty/bready nose, with light clove phenols, some spice, and a lot of tangy/wheaty character - full carbonation in the mouth - quite dry and spicy, but with a moderate yeastiness on the back - otherwise it’s clean, dry, and spicy - pepper and clove in the finish, as well as earthy and floral - a nice belgian ale.

Bottle from JDIPSO, thank you so much John. The beer pours a thick golden color, cannot see through it (I poured out of John’s package so it never got a chance to settle). The head is large (at times) but fades rather fast leaving a lightly sticky lacing. This is a very interesting beer, and I am surprised I have not tried it earlier. It seems it is made to just display a certain ester aspect of the yeast. Otherwise the beer is rather plain, just a white, thick, bread maltiness. Its all over but in general boring and plain, however it is meant to be that way. This way the ester aspect helps a chance to shine. Its not a crazy esteriness. Its lightly fruity (mango, orange and sugar) yet very dry floral-like. This is found throughout the beer. Its cool, these esters really get to live out loud. In general it could be kind of boring yet estery and Belgian. I like it.
12oz bottle, Bell’s tulip glass.

Had an another bottle and I just love this, I am bumping the rating up a little bit. Its got all of the aspects of a Belgian beer I enjoy yet in an easy drinking, can’t stop the action kind of way. For a Belgian Pale ale this may be the best I need.

Poured a pale golden color with a large white head. Aroma was spicy some wheat and some yeastiness. Flavor was really light on the tongue and had a thin body. Very refreshing beer that you could easily put a 6 pack down in a sitting. I loved this stuff.
