Commercial Description:
Pure and crisp, this is a beer with nothing to hide. Wisconsin two-row barley malt ensures a mellow and smooth body. We imported Noble Hop varieties from Germany and the Czech Republic to ensure a fine mature aroma with no coarse bitterness. Expect this beer to pour a delicate golden hue that sparkles in the summer sun. Extra Pale is brewed using all natural ingredients with no artificial additives of any kind.

Appearance: Pours a clear, light yellow body with a wispy white head. Smell: Cereal grain aroma with slight grass and floral notes Taste: Lightly sweet pale malts with a faint hint of grain. Mild grassiness. Hint of flowers. A sprinkling of yeast. No real bitterness present. Finishes exceedingly clean. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Not a bad beer by any means, but just a bit too light and a bit too thin for my tastes.

I thought this was pretty good. Pours light golden, good carbonation, good flavor, nice white head. Good summer beer at the Lake house.

Pours a pale yellow color with a white head. Aroma is pilsner malts, grain, and some spicy peppery hops. Flavor is pilsner malts, and a light peppery hop finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear light golden color with a small disappearing white head. The aroma, what there is, is lightly sweet, more lightly citrus, and light grass. There is also some metal notes. The flavor is much of the same disappointing mess. Light bodied. This is easily my least favorite New Glarus offering.

12oz probably from kingpinipa. Pours clear yellow with a bright white head. Nose is lagery. Taste is sweet, light and slightly flavorful. Decent, right above the dp category, probably because it isn’t offensive.

Bottle and served in my New Glarus pint glass: Clean light golden hue topped by a nice foamy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of wet biscuity grains, under-fermented starches, corny, a bit of grassy hops and a hint of lemongrass. The taste is rather straight forward mild maltiness and some light noble bitterness. There is a subdued metallic note upon the finish. The mouth feel is smooth and refreshing. It is what it is, a solid lager that would be good on a hot summer day.

Basically a glorified bud light. This is the stepping stone beer that bland drinkers can use to work their way up to the world of true beer drinkers. Obviously I wouldn’t buy this one again and probably wouldn’t drink it if someone gave it to me for free with a dollar bill taped to it.

Just a smooth, crisp, lager. Good summer beer. Tastes a little like a well-made macro.
