Commercial Description:
Pure and crisp, this is a beer with nothing to hide. Wisconsin two-row barley malt ensures a mellow and smooth body. We imported Noble Hop varieties from Germany and the Czech Republic to ensure a fine mature aroma with no coarse bitterness. Expect this beer to pour a delicate golden hue that sparkles in the summer sun. Extra Pale is brewed using all natural ingredients with no artificial additives of any kind.

Poured golden. Aroma - light grainy. Taste - sweet, floral hops with a touch of citrus. Very pleasant actually. I’m not a big fan of pale lagers, but New Glarus has done better than most with this style.

This beer pours a pronounced sparkling gold. Small head but it laces all over the glass. Smells like cut grass, hay, lemon zest; very summery. Sweetness is obvious. A bit like white wine. Taste is clean and a bit watery but refreshing. I think that’s the angle. This mops the floor with any other macro in taste but it’s very similar at the same time. Mouthfeel is light and watery. So what? That doesn’t mean it’s a bad beer. Drinkability is off the charts.

Bottle thanks to James. Clear yellow pour without a significant head. The beer is what it is: a very drinkable lager. Good that way.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden yellow with a thin white head. Very little floral aroma. Not much taste - a hint of corn. Not much to this beer. It is what Dan wanted.

Crystal clear golden color with a quickly dissipating white head, leaving no lacing. Smell is pretty faint, flowery and a touch of honey. Taste is of honey and corn, paired with the same soft flowery notes perceived in the smell. I don’t think it could get much better for the style. Medium carbonation with light/medium body. Great to drink, a simple beer, but I enjoyed it.

Bottle. Pours gold with a medium white head.Lot of carbonation.Light hop aroma.light body. This beer makes a good lager but nat a extra pale. My rating is kind of low due to the fact i’m not a big lager fan. The folks at the New Glarus Brewing Co. do make excellant beers though!

while this style has basically been invented for breweries such as miller & budweiser, new glarus does a fairly good job at it. part of the reason for the low rating may be that the style is kind of bad. in any case, i would probably think of it as a better version of budweiser.

12 oz bottle. Pours a straw yellow color and is crystal clear and an aggressive white head that eventually simmers down to a nice size ring that laces very well. Nose is sweet smelling with hints of cookie dough...? VERY light flavor. Tastes like what the Big 3 should shoot for. Just a little malt sweetness in the flavor, not a lot of bitterness to speak of. This would be a good transition beer for people too afraid to try craft beer.
