| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Bottle... Very dark ruby lager with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. Milk chocolate, toasted cashews and toffee nose. The flavor is rich and malty. Chocolaty and sweet, but never becomes cloying. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes chocolaty and bittersweet. Kudos to Monger for shipping this gem my way! JorisPPattyn (5174), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Fully dark brown with good yellow-brown head, creamy and leaving textbook rings of lace. Molasses, dark breadsugar aroma’s. Bit of coffee and roasted nuts as well. Very coffeeish taste (more stout than Bock), dry, laurel. Lots of dark malts. Longlasting taste, in the end a bit chocolate/mint-like. Bit burning, even adstringent MF, well bodied, creamy texture. Blind I’d ventured stout. It misses the bready flavours of a German Bock to round it off. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
