Commercial Description:

"Some people paint, some sing, others write ... I brew." - Daniel Carey

A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Napoleon hailed this tart beer style "the Champagne of the North." A lively and elegant masterpiece this Berliner Weiss is a kaleidoscope of fresh flavor. Barrel fermentation, Pinot Grigio, Riesling grapes and Wisconsin White Wheat are bottle fermented with five proprietary yeast strains. A connoisseur’s rare jewel both spirited and subtle, enjoy your sparkling toast under summer stars.

Thanks For Supporting The Arts.

Thanks to hophead22 for this fantastic bonus. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Nose of citrus, musty funk, dusty, and grapes. Initial taste of citrus and salt, funky grape, mild apples. Mid palate displays some tartness in the beer developing mild acidity. Finishing with yeasty funk making this beer exciting and fun to drink. Good palate duration and head retention. Fizzy mouthfeel and light body. Refreshing and delicious. Absolutely awesome!

12 oz. bottle - Poured clear pale yellow color with small head that faded quickly. Aroma - light scent of grapes, wheat and apples. Flavor - sour grapes, lemon and tart apples. Palate - very thin mouthfeel with dry somewhat dusty feeling on tongue and lips. Overall - Probably a good version of this style brew, but not a beer I would purchase again.

Bottle thanks to fantomas23
Transparent rich gold, small white head that’s gone quickly. Nose has lots of green apple and spice, like graham cracker and cinnamon, together reminiscent of an apple pie, while making it. Flavor is simpler, lots of tart citrus, lime, somewhat cidery. Nice body, carbonation just right, finish is not lengthy but nicely developed and light, more wheat than the rest of the beer. Nice, balanced example, even if some of the more traditional and preferred elements (no lactic at all) are nowhere to be found.

Bottle from the generous noncaloric. Pours a cloudy yellow with a nice light head. Aroma has some lemon tartness, light funk, yeast, granny smith apples and earthy tones. Flavor is very tart, lemons, tart apples, some light earthy funk and some yeast. This is as sour as i can take a beer honestly. But I am aware of how well this was brewed. Pretty nice.

Dusty, some vegetable (celery), sourness. Pretty straw color. Slight lacing. Taste is sweet and sour. Malty, some belgian dustiness. Okay, maybe the vegetable is actually belgian yeastiness mixed with the sourness. Some cider and mead flavors. Apple and honey. Okay, still getting that celery profile. It’s distracting. Tastes like a fest beer, if that makes sense. Undistinguished. I like the sourness in this, but I don’t feel as if it is well-made. Definitely need a fresher re-rate.

Bottle received from my brother in law as a gift (thanks Neil!) Pour was slighty hazy golden yellow with minimal carbonation and some sourness in the aroma. Flavor was mellow sour apples and finished some pear sweetness. A good summertime beer

Poured a slightly hazed yellow color with a medium sized white head. Light tartness in the aroma. Wheaty lemon and dusty notes. Mild to moderate tartness. Lemony. Mildly acidic finish with a light body.

Thanks to moelikebeer for this brew It pours a hazy yellow with a meringue-like white head. Nice sour/tart flavor with a refreshing finish.
