Commercial Description:

"Some people paint, some sing, others write ... I brew." - Daniel Carey

A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Napoleon hailed this tart beer style "the Champagne of the North." A lively and elegant masterpiece this Berliner Weiss is a kaleidoscope of fresh flavor. Barrel fermentation, Pinot Grigio, Riesling grapes and Wisconsin White Wheat are bottle fermented with five proprietary yeast strains. A connoisseur's rare jewel both spirited and subtle, enjoy your sparkling toast under summer stars.

Bottle courtesy of golubj. Pours a nice dullish gold or yellow color with a medium white head. Aroma of popcorn, buttered bread, lemon, must, and yeast. Flavor wasn’t very tart. Flavor was pretty yeasty, with a good amount of grapes and buttered bread. A good amount of saltiness in the flavor. This was pretty good for a style I do not know much about.

Hazy gold color with a fluffy white head. Very fizzy looking. Some good tart lemon in the aroma and a bit of grassiness. Nice and tart tasting with a good dose of lemon peel. Effervescent. I dig it.

Bottle. Pours a straw color with a good white head. Oak and wheat nose. Flavors follow the nose added some nice wine flavors. Mouth is mild and smooth. Good little beer.

12 oz bottle, via iowaherkeye. Pours a hazy gold body, minimal to no head that was fizzy and white, light visible carbonation. The nose is tart and sour with lots of wheat and citrus rind. The flavor is not as tart and biting as Berliner Kindl Weisse, but it is decent as far as the other American Berliner Weisse I have had. More of a Wheat Ale really than a Berliner. I wish it were a little more crisp and sharp, it is a little doughy and flabby. Nice fizzy carbonation keeps it lively though. OK, but not the answer to my quest for a great American Berliner Weisse. Wonder why this style is so hard to nail? Dickinsonbeer seems to have it down amazingly well.

Bottle from Brigadier. Thanks man. Pour is a hazy, golden with a big, fizz white head. Aroma is a zesty lemon, grapes and wine like. Flavor is very lively and tart. Very dry, carbonated and refreshing. Nice beer.

Definitely not my style I can see how some would enjoy the champagne qualities though

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate wheat sour fruit aroma. Medium body with a thin texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet & sour flavor with a medium sour & sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting, not my style.

Bottle pours a hazy straw color with a tall vanilla head and good lacing. Aroma of tart grapes and fresh lemons. Light bodied with an effervescent carbonation. Taste is sour and tart, mostly lemon but with hints of white grapes and green apple. Subtle wheat and dry white wine hints add a nice complexity. Very well done and highly drinkable, this neglected style is one of my favorites.
