Aroma is nice barnyard funk, sour, and light fruitiness. Flavor is refreshing and tart with a light earthy undertone that adds a little complexity. Finishes clean and tart and makes it hard to stop drinking. Solid brew. Must get more. amishcaravan (239), Winona, Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy yellow with a white film of head. The aroma has some tart white grape and mild grains- pretty simple. The body is crisp and light, with a solid tartness in the flavor. Has some white wine vinousness, which is followed by some mild, residual grain flavors into the finish. Has the tartness, but lacks and complexity. Still pretty decent. inkubus27 (255), Highland, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2008 I’m a noob to this style, but dang I could learn to like these a lot! The aroma on this threw me off initially, as it comes off kindof funky and I almost thought it was a bad beer. Aside from the aroma everything else about this rocks. Flavor is soft, fruity, tart with a medium body, flavor almost comes off as champagne like. Palate on this is super clean, like drinking a glass of water. I liked this a lot and this is going to be my next homebrewing project. noncaloric (629), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Bottle, pilsner glass. Pale gold, slightly hazy, sparkling bubbles lazily make their way to the surface. A white head begins thinnish, but doesn’t lose what thickness it has, thanks to the ongoing effervescence. Aromas of yeast, gumball, and lemons. Initially, flavor is lemon sweet-sourness, with a hint of gumball. Big sour vinous flavors ensue while the carbonation sparkles over the tongue. This lasts a while before fading to a wheaty finish with yeasty overtones and a chalky mouthfeel. In so many ways, this is like Smarties candy in a glass. Definitely a Yum if not quite a Wow. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Hazy yellow color with a quickly collapsing white head. Dusty grain and wheat aroma. A little lemon and tartness, too. Quite sour and tart taste right off the bat. Lemon, acidic. The solid wheat flavor comes through in the aftertaste. I am so glad that a lot of us voted for a Berliner Weiss in 2008 from these guys. cblado (150), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. Picked this one up from the New Glarus Brewery in New Glarus, WI. Color was a light straw, slight white head. Aroma was fermented grape and malt, some grassy notes too. Flavor was sour, sour, sour, and all around delicious. It tasted like tart lemons or rhubarb, kind of a tonic water taste too (not unpleasant). Body was fairly light and lively, kind of a champagne character. Overall I would recommend it.
