Commercial Description:

"Some people paint, some sing, others write ... I brew." - Daniel Carey

A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Napoleon hailed this tart beer style "the Champagne of the North." A lively and elegant masterpiece this Berliner Weiss is a kaleidoscope of fresh flavor. Barrel fermentation, Pinot Grigio, Riesling grapes and Wisconsin White Wheat are bottle fermented with five proprietary yeast strains. A connoisseur’s rare jewel both spirited and subtle, enjoy your sparkling toast under summer stars.

Thanks For Supporting The Arts.

GTMW 08 - Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. The aroma is sour with lemons, crisp wheat and more of a smoothness than most of the style. Medium / light body with tight sharp carbonation. The flavor starts much sharper than the aroma with sharp citrus and some lactic acid. The finish has lingering dry lemon. Delightful beer.
rerate notes - just bumping up number when when having a full bottle. Great beer.

Bottle from Ryan. Thanks! Berliner Weiss is a new style to NC, so I am still getting a taste for this one - I love the sour profile that comes with them and I love the low alcohol which makes it highly drinkable. I just need to get a ’bowl’ to drink it out of. Pours out an orange color with a nice white head on it. Smell is sweet and somewhat tart and yeastey. Taste is smooth and sour somewhat tart but not tart enough to be offensive. This beer is really good, but will not age and should be consumed as fresh as possible. Another winner from NG. I had a nice Sean like sample of this one. I opened it and poured beer into the cap and rated it off that. Thanks Ryan!

Pale straw. Fairly bright. Light, wheaty aroma. Sour celery and lime. Pretty cool complexity. Dry finish and very limey.

Thanks to hopdog for the bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden yellow with a small to medium bubbly/creamy white head. Aroma of this great tartness along with a bunch of various fruits, peaches, white grapes, some tropical fruits, bready malt notes and a touch of some honey. Flavor was this wonderful up front tartness, followed by the tropical fruits, white wine, peaches, apple juice, bready malt and wheat notes. This is one heck of a Berliner Weiss!

At Vero, thanks to Cheeseman for sharing! Mainly clear, apple juice color. Big juicy apple and pear bouquet. Big carbonation. Apricot fuzz. Toe-tingling. Not too tart. Smooth, hardly lactic. Really well-rendered. Refreshingly tart, light, tasty, and good.

Pours a crisp lemon yellow with a thick layer of white head that dissipates to a thin layer. Aroma is cidery and tart. Flavor is pear, apple, definite tartness. Champagne-cider-like flavor. A dry white/champagne flavor comes across. Definitely not my style beer but it is well done.

Hot damn. Danny Carey is amazing at brewing beer. I look forward to the release of these unplugged beers more than i do my own birthday. Always different styles, made with unique ingredients in unique ways. I love it.
