Commercial Description:

"Some people paint, some sing, others write ... I brew." - Daniel Carey

A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Napoleon hailed this tart beer style "the Champagne of the North." A lively and elegant masterpiece this Berliner Weiss is a kaleidoscope of fresh flavor. Barrel fermentation, Pinot Grigio, Riesling grapes and Wisconsin White Wheat are bottle fermented with five proprietary yeast strains. A connoisseur's rare jewel both spirited and subtle, enjoy your sparkling toast under summer stars.

12oz bottle via trade. Pours a lightly hazed medium yellow with a 2 finger thick white head that shrinks to a small ring, spotty lacing. Very clean nose of crisp citrus, yeast and some tart funk. Flavor is lightly tart and acidic with lemon zest being the dominant force. Overall a great Berliner.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours an almost hazy yellow with a thin white head. Almost mustard notes, and crisp acid. Crisp light sourness, with a light fizzy carbonation and light acid. Finish with a dry crispness. Update: Had this again at BCTC. Very easy drinking... wish I could get this by the bucket for summer drinking. Utterly delicious.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of iowaherkey. Slightly hazy yellow with an off-white head. Lacto acidic nose. Light body, again lactic tartness and a whiff of yeast. Dry and astringent finish. 270509

120z bottle. My first of this style. Pours hazy light golden orange with very small white head. Aroma is wheat, lemon, and some light yeast. Flavor is tart like white wine with light citrus, and some wheat. Reminds me of carbonated white wine. Clean and crisp with nice carbonation. Really liked this. Will have to try more of this style.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours hazy golden with a bubbly white head. It has a tart, citrus rich aroma. Flavor is very tart and rather funky with good sourness. It’s light bodied and very interesting. Kudos to New Glarus for a nice version of this too rarely brewed styled.

Pours pale gold with a lacy white head. Lemony aroma and softly sour taste. Nicely tart and balanced taste, but not a sour as I was expecting for the style.

Claudy golden with a medium white head. Sourish aroma with apple and malty notes. Flavour was sour with wheat, malt and lactonotes. Had an apples tartness. Refreshing.
