Nicely tart and balanced taste, but not a sour as I was expecting for the style. KimJohansen (7136), Copenhagen V, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2009 Pros: Well, it’s a nice example of the style. One of the better examples made here. Wine-like, with a heavy Pinot Grigio character. Nicely dry, with a solid intensity of flavor. Clean and very juicy fruity. Nicely tart and balanced.
Cons: Not a very complex or vibrant nose. Like it. Respect it. Wouldn’t want to have another. Drinking Berliner Weiss is not something I enjoy. coharahawk (87), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

I lost this one in the basement for awhile, and it was a nice surprise when I stumbled upon it. Pours a clear golden with a effervescent white head. Aroma has wheat, light fruit esp apple, and some funk. Flavors starts fairly sweet and fruity upfront and follows with a crisp sour and acidic finish that lingers only briefly. The beer is not overly sweet and is very refreshing. I have not had too many of the style for comparison, but I really like this one. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2009 Lightly hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, and light colored fruit. There is a nice tartness to this at first but the finish is sweet, not to my likening with this style. A yeast taste, mild grape and medium carbonation. Lacks crispness and the sourness that I want with this style. BgThang (118), Texas, USA

After aging this a little while it become lightly sour. The first sip was off putting but then it grows on you throughout the glass

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2009 Updated: Sep 18, 200912 oz bottle courtesy of either Three Cellars or Discount Liquors (Wisco). Pours a very lively carbonated glowing hazy golden straw, big white bubbly head that dissipates to a small layer and laces a touch. Very carbonated, evident as it tries it’s best to spew from the bottle before pour. Aromas are a touch flaked white wheat, pushing some mild esters of banana and apple with light tartness evident. Initial is lighter in body, packing some nice tart and sour qualities, lighter fruity esters that let the tartness take over, but don’t take it too far. Dry, with a touch of wheat, without the bit of bitterness that usually follows with these beers. Instead, tartness and a touch of fruitiness lingers on the palate, lemon and subtle funk, this beer is dry and tart and very enjoyable from my point of view. Light barrel undertones, subtle grape sweetness and sourness balance. Champagnesque yeasty feel. I grew up as a Champagne person thanks to my mother. Very sessionable. I love this. Cheers to a great one!
