Commercial Description:

"Some people paint, some sing, others write ... I brew." - Daniel Carey

A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Napoleon hailed this tart beer style "the Champagne of the North." A lively and elegant masterpiece this Berliner Weiss is a kaleidoscope of fresh flavor. Barrel fermentation, Pinot Grigio, Riesling grapes and Wisconsin White Wheat are bottle fermented with five proprietary yeast strains. A connoisseur’s rare jewel both spirited and subtle, enjoy your sparkling toast under summer stars.

Thanks For Supporting The Arts.

12oz bottle served in a shaker. Hazy light golden pour with a thin head of off-white foam that quickly settled into a lasting film. Minimal lacing. The aroma included wheat, bready yeast, sweet citrus, and some lemony sourness. The flavor had an upfront, crisp tartness. Lemon zest, crackery pale malt, and wheat. Not overly sour, but very quenching and refreshing. Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Light and simple. A good drink for a hot day.

12 oz bottle acquired in trade with Soonah. Pours a slightly cloudy pale straw color with a 1/4" white head. Aroma is sour and tart. Cherries, lemons and wheat. Palate is on the light side with active carbonation. Also, a fair amount of pucker power. Flavor is sour and acidic with citrus flavors and a champagne quality to it. Tart, bitter aftertaste. Not my usual comfort zone, but very enjoyable.

Pours a hazy straw color with a quickly dissipating thin white head. Aroma is light, tart and citrusy. Flavor is lemony with a clean acidity and some bubble gum. Thin mouthfeel and high carbonation.

This poured a cloudy golden yellow color with a large fluffy white head. Aroma was sour lemon, a bit funky, and some fruits as well. Flavor was funk up front, a bit bit chalky, and finishes with a fairly tart swallow.

Bottle. Pour is rich cloudy golden color with small white head. Aroma is lemon, faint wheat, and a light funk/ sour aroma. Flavor is sour up front with a nice lemon lick. It’s very refreshing and clean. There are some other more subtle flavors in there, but I really cannot identify most of them...possibly dandelions, maybe a touch of floral hops, and white wine. It is more complex than I thought it would but the dominant flavors are simple and pure. It’s a really nice beer.

Clear golden, lingering small white head, light lacing. Aroma is quite wheaty, acidic, apple juice, citrus. Flavour is lightly tart, small acidic, wheaty, light sweetness at times, apple juice. Lightly sour mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, dry, light acidic.

Quite wheaty and nowhere near as assertive as other samples. Dieu du Ciel and some German ones are in a different class. That said, I still quite enjoyed this.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.

12 bottle via trade. Aroma is nice and tart with plenty of lemon and apricott. Bubbly medium body that actually finishes a little on the thick and creamy side. Flavor is tart and fruity with some grainy wheat and an odd aftertaste that kicks in a few seconds after the final swallow. Very solid despite the odd aftertaste.

courtesy of msubulldog25, thanks for the extra. Pours hazy golden, white head. Aroma has a nice champagne yeast nose, light tartness, some grain; wheat and fruits. Flavor surprised me. I think the whole Unplugged serie has this unique cachet of adding extra tartness to the beer with hints of barrel. Citrus palate, yeasty, champagne like yeast, with an enjoyable bitter sweetness, fruity notes; peach.
