| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to SoLan, thanks for helping me acquire a bottle of this beer I have wanted to try. Poured a crystal clear golden-yellow color with a fluffy, inch thick off-white head that faded to a thick layer and left the sides of the glass coated in lacing. Aroma of pilsner malt, dough, light cracker, a bit of grass, soft hints of fruit (apple and pear skin), and some Saaz hops. Smooth, lightly crisp entry with some light cracker leads into a light fruity middle with a bit of apple paired with a soft doughiness that finishes crisp with a grassy, snappy Saaz hoppiness with some soft, lightly spicy yeast undertones that round out the flavor. Crisp, clean, and easy to drink, but never watery. Very nice beer, I wish I could get it fresh all the time. Thanks again Alan. hapjydeuce (772), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Bottle as a trade extra from my man pantanap! Backlogged rating. Shared with Katie in Steamboat Springs in early February ’09. Normally I don’t fancy this style of beer, or many other Czech & German brews, but this was an anomaly for me. Clear golden-amber color with a white ring of head on the pour. I remember a nose full of baked bread, light apple and pear, with the slightly funky grassy tones of Saaz hops. Grainy malt base in the flavor with more Saaz and yeast on the finish. Much more heavily bodied than I expected for this style. Pretty damn good, I must say I was impressed. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 19, 2009 This style doesnt have much to offer, that being said, NG’s was a nice, clean and crisp offering. Bready taste, with an ever so slight smack of hops. Not really worth paying 9 bucks for a 4 pk, this tastes way to similar to Macro lagers and pilsners. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Pours a solid yellow, with a perfect head. Looks like how the macros look in the commercials. Texture is thick, but not overly so, and finishes dry and clean. Flavor is slight smokey, with a nice burst of yeast. Lots of fruit and fizz going on as well. Nice tartish afterbite. This one is great. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Bottle, courtesy KingpinIPA. Pours golden yellow with fizzy white head. Nose is caramel, bread and pear. Taste is lagery, bread, corn, butter and crisp apple. Nice, tasty lager. Perfectly "normal". Naka (526), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Juart. Pours golden orange color with a strong spritz to it. A small fizzy white head. Aroma is kind of papery with a little spicy sweetness. The flavor has a nice bitterness to it with a very dry hop character. A little bit of sweetness, but very nicely balanced. Pretty light body. Finishes dry. I’m not a big fan of lagers, but this is definitely a good beer. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA

Pours a beautiful golden color with a decent sized pillowy white head. Aroma is bread, earth, light toast. Flavor is toasty malts, hint of fruityness, spice. Palate is medium to light bodied, medium carbonation, finished lightly sweet with a hint of spiciness. Really good stuff here. JCB (1777), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Thanks to Facto for sharing another sleeper from NG! Lustrous and golden, a subtle reminder at this point in the deep Pre-Sex tasting of the power of simplicity. Lively pour and palate, with crisp hops and bready flavors blending sweet with bitter. An amazingly lively example of this traditional style.
