Commercial Description:
In 1985 before The Wall fell, and just after the birth of our youngest daughter, Dan followed his Siren’s Call making the true Brewer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of modern beer; Pilsen. Inspired by the noble brew he scribbled notes; triple decoction, 100% Czech Moravian malt, fermentation in unlined oak tanks, generous amounts of Saaz Hops, Krausening and a three month ice cold lager. An elegant masterpiece of complexity lost to change in the Czech Republic. We resurrect and invest, by brewing without compromise, that exact Old World recipe and this is the brew - Bohemian Lager.

Pours clear light amber with a thin white head. Aroma of wheat and some sweetness. Taste is pretty much like a european lager type beer, some hop bite in the finish. Not really my thing, but it is drinkable and refreshing.

Bottle and served in standard pils glass: Clan golden hue with a frothy head and good lacework. The aroma has notes of biscuity malts, Saaz hops, grassy and hay field, classic eastern European lager yeast esters. The taste is basically moderate herbal hop bitterness and grainy malts with just a hint of ripened sweet apples, yeasty throughout. The mouth feel is clean and crisp with a touch of lemony tartness, quite refreshing. A per the genre, not a lot of overwhelming depth but when done right, these beers can hit the spot. This one does just that.

Received as a bonus beer in a trade with noncaloric... thanks for my first Bohemian Pilsener rating. Golden yellow body with small fizzy white head. Nicely carbonated with some light lacing. Aroma of straw, yeast and lemon. Palate is excellent... doesn’t feel thin at all. Flavor is initially mostly lemon, straw, and some yeast but finishes with some crisp floral hops. Very good, easy-drinking beer.

In short: A superior Bohemian Pilsner true to the style
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed fresh two days after I received it from oakbuff. Thanks a lot Scott.
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a small white head leaving lots of lacings
In long: Nose of is hay, light lemony meringue, some grass. Body is chewy, fluffy, and comfortably pillowy. Looks filtered but taste like an unfiltered lager with a very upfront yeast presence. A little oily. Generously hopped brew. Finish is mainly dry grassy with notes of citrus and lemon. Light tartness. All in all a very faithful Bohemian Pilsner. Really true to the style, the only thing to make it feel even more like an authentic Czech Repulic Bohemian Pilsner it would have to be $1/bottle, but with the way the economy is going right now it shouldn’t be long…

This is probably one of the best American made lagers that I’ve ever had. Ever so slightly darker than the average fizzy yellow beer with a thin white head. A nice and pleasant apple like aroma with a hint of spicey hops. Easy as hell to drink with what can only be described as a bold use of sweet and juicy malts while having a significant but in now way harsh hop bite. This would probably be the PERFECT case of beer for a day of watching football with the guys. Simple and subtle and a head above the rest.

12oz Bottle. Pours a very clear ochre-golden, nicely hued, with a thin rim of white lacing the glass. Deep apple-like pilsener malt and alcohol. Subdued. Flavor runs in the same vein, with a malt character leaning creamy, but staying snappy with a fresh bite of hops. Seltzer character carries the flavors, but they end up a little thin. Not a strong beer. A decent drinking pilsener, but not very expressive. Clean and fresh. I’ve had better malt character and better hop figures. Nice body.

[Bottle] Pours a clear dark golden color with a good amount of white head and nice lacing. Clean, crisp hop aroma. Biscuit malts and light citrus in the flavor. Sweet light caramel finish. Better than average mouthfeel for the style. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle A lot of lemon lime citrus flavors. Takes some time to warm up to but not too bad.
