Commercial Description:
In 1985 before The Wall fell, and just after the birth of our youngest daughter, Dan followed his Siren’s Call making the true Brewer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of modern beer; Pilsen. Inspired by the noble brew he scribbled notes; triple decoction, 100% Czech Moravian malt, fermentation in unlined oak tanks, generous amounts of Saaz Hops, Krausening and a three month ice cold lager. An elegant masterpiece of complexity lost to change in the Czech Republic. We resurrect and invest, by brewing without compromise, that exact Old World recipe and this is the brew - Bohemian Lager.

lightly hazy gold, fluffy white head. Nose is herbal hops, some peppery spice, toasty malt, some tea-like astringency. Flavor is toasty malt, tingly spicy hop. Nice crisp bitterness. Perhaps a bit too much sweetness remains in the finish accompanied by more of those herbal, tingly hops.

Bottle thanks to Barrythebear (BA)!
Transparent gold and almost no head, a fizzy white ring is soon all that remains. Very soft, floral nose of pale malt, slightly burnt toast as a highlight. Flavor is bursting with a fantastic balance of crisp, grassy hop bitterness and lightly grainy, biscuity malt. Then comes the heavy dough sweetness, elevating the palate. Very long, balanced finish, ultra crisp and superbly refreshing. Could drink this all day.

I bought this beer because I find this brewer to be interesting, but I find the style to generally be pretty unexciting. But this beer was pretty interesting. A dark straw color with a ton of head. Aroma was Saaz hops and a ton of cereal-ness. Flavor was more of the same. Now, sour, sweet, malt-ball like graininess I am not a fan of, but the fresh cereal-y taste of cooked toasted grains can be pretty pleasant, and this beer had that in spades. Mouthfeel is pretty unremarkable. Pretty good. I bought this bottle at Riley’s in Madison, WI.

Aroma is of grainy malt with some slight fruits. Fruits come out more in the flavor. Pretty decent beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a great one inch frothy white head that had excellent retention and left lots of fine lacing. Nice clean bready malt aroma with just a touch of woodiness and a great still-lively Saaz presence. I’m also getting a hint of wintergreen for some reason as well. Nice soft flavor with fluffy bready pils malt and a nice light yeast profile. The hops are a bit subdued, bit add a nice crispness and zing on the finish. Medium bodied and very soft in texture, this is really filling and hearty for a BoPils. Perfect soft and gentle carbonation. A nice effort once again for the unplugged series.

Faintly cloudy gold, thing but dense white head. Bready, winey, oaky aroma, plus some citrus. Clean and crisp, with a dryish, bitter finish. notes of pine and citrus. Very tasty and satisfying. Thanks to lithy for the trade.

What a great lager. Insanely easy to drink. Light yellowcolor. Saaz hops in the most pleasant way. A bit of yeast profile. Leans dry. Medium fade white head.
