Beautiful beer. Nose is hay, grain, bready yeast, and some honey. Herbal hops, cereal and crackers. Modest bitterness but enough that you know its a pilsner. Not a style I like in the slightest but this is a very very good take on it. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

The aroma is herbal hops with a pretty sweet honey note. The flavor is graham crackers, honey, an herbal tea of hops, and a slight corn/metal note that throws it off just a little. Pretty good. Pours a slightly deeper than expected light copper with a medium lasting head. Aroma is nicely bready toast is big, slight syrupy honey sharpness, in the middle of going from a big pils to a maibock type of big maltiness, and a really nice floral and spicy hop kick. Flavor is also big fresh bready maltiness, sweet, honey like- big decoction full malt flavor and mouthfeel with great fresh hops all the way through and a spicy zesty and slight grassy hop kick in the end- moderately bitter. Slightly different, but still really nice. tennisjoel (950), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Pour is a deep golden body with a sufficient tight bubbled white head. Aromas of dry earthy hops with hints of honey and cereal grains. Seriously, this is mind blowing. Easily the best pils I’ve ever had. I bought a 4 pack and couldn’t stop drinking this. It’s that good! Normally this style doesn’t blow me away. I love me a good Prima Pils (which may have been my favorite pils up to this point). But I think this easily beats it. Normally I put the New Glarus wheat beers as their pinnacle type beers. This competes with those. Don’t get me wrong, the fruit beers NG puts out are great, yet fruit beers never seem to blow me away. This beer is absolutely stunning. Just a wow! felsenpils (12), Sacramento, California, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 1/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Updated: Jul 16, 2009O.K. let’s have a look. First of all, it costs $8.99 for a 4 pack at the local market in New Glarus, WI. That’s right a 4 pack! But, let’s give it a go: the hop character is way too pronounced, Tastes more like an IPA than a Pils. Way off the mark. It screams American micro with a combination of Caramel malt and aroma hops. Looks and tastes just like their Hometown Blonde which they no longer produce. Bohemian lagers are not aromatic beers! They are very malt accented with a touch of typical yeast ester. Once again, pretty good beer, wrong category. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

Smells of dry pilsner malt, wildflowers, some sweet hints. Tastes dry and crisp with soem appley hints and a mildly bitter floral finish. kiefdog (1628), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Updated: Jul 22, 2009Pours a pretty clear gold with a creamy 1 finger head that has decent retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, toast, grass, floral, rich grainy malt and a hint of fresh cut wood. Flavor is grain, grass, biscuit, toasted grain, fresh baked white bread, malt sweetness, earth, hay and some mild fruity notes. Finish is toasted grain, a hint of sweetness and grassy hops leading to a slightly bitter grassy hop fade. Simply delicious. Palate is thin to medium body with a slightly slick entry, leading to a slightly dry, clean (though there is a little chalkiness) finish, the carbonation level is medium intensity and rather spritzy, it fits this beer very well. Amazing stuff, I really wish I could find a pils of this great of quality locally. In my rating for Victory Prima Pils a few days ago I said I couldn’t imagine a pils being any better than that. Well here it is, technically this is a Bohemian Pilsener I guess, but I don’t care.
