Commercial Description:
In 1985 before The Wall fell, and just after the birth of our youngest daughter, Dan followed his Siren’s Call making the true Brewer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of modern beer; Pilsen. Inspired by the noble brew he scribbled notes; triple decoction, 100% Czech Moravian malt, fermentation in unlined oak tanks, generous amounts of Saaz Hops, Krausening and a three month ice cold lager. An elegant masterpiece of complexity lost to change in the Czech Republic. We resurrect and invest, by brewing without compromise, that exact Old World recipe and this is the brew - Bohemian Lager.

Appearance: Pours a straw gold with a small sudsy white head. Aroma: Grain and biscuit malt. Taste: Bitter hops, dry grainy malt, and a finish of crisp bitter hops. Mouthfeel: Creamy. Overall: Not my favorite style of beer, but highly drinkable and seemingly well made.

body is golden yellow, clear. head is off-white tall, rocky, & lots of lacing. aroma is sweet lager malt, zesty citrus and wet hay. flavor is mildly sweet malt and some dry grassyness, a finish of bitter hops, a little dusty & honey, then bitter dried hop aftertaste.

12oz bottle. Pours a golden orange color with a frothy white head. Aroma is of malt, funk, oak, and hops. Smells like a muddled mess that was left under the floorboards. Luckily it tastes a lot better than it smells. Taste starts off very earthy with a presence of hops, lots of lemon zest and funk. Has a backbone of oaken malt, that also manages to be very skunky. Finish is all skunk and lemon. Mouthfeel is creamy and goes down easy. Refreshing, but a little too dusty and old tasting given that it’s not old and dusty.

Bottle - Pours light amber with a big frothy head. Not the best aroma - kind of dull and soapy, though the malt aroma is nice. The bottle is a probably a little past it’s prime, because there’s a noticable amount of skunk in the flavor. Beyond that there’s some nice oaky malt flavors, as well as a nice dry hop bite on the finish. This is an easy drinking beer, light-medium bodied beer with just enough carbonation to make it feel creamy. I only wish I could have had this beer in its prime.

2008 Bottle... Pours golden with a slight amber hue, decent head for being over a year old. Slight saaz hop aroma, really not much in this department. Flavor is perfect for a lager, malty, slightly bitter, with a little bit of a lasting flavor from the saaz hops.

Pours clear and golden with a sudsy / soapy white head. The aroma has breadiness, very light toast and lager malt - clean and rich. Medium body with some lightly sharp carbonation on the finish. The flavor starts like the aroma with a bit more crispness and dryness. The finish adds some spice and cracker along with smooth toasted malt. This is nice, but seems odd being part of the unplugged series. Still very well done.

Aroma is slightly sour, crisp malt, caramel, and lemon-pine herbal. Taste is clean, bright malt, some touches of grassiness and nuts, hoppy lemon flavor, a bit big on the carbonation, but that’s to be expected. Finish is slightly bitter with malt dominating (this is a bit older), hop flavor lingers and finishes dry. This is very nice. I think I could drink this all the time.

12 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a clear golden amber color with lots of carbonation. Thin head lasted forever and left sheets of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malts with slight hints of grass and caramel. Taste is toasted malts, grass, apple and caramel... yes... caramel apple... and a bitter hoppy finish. Excellently balanced and very crisp/ Medium bodied.
