Commercial Description:
In 1985 before The Wall fell, and just after the birth of our youngest daughter, Dan followed his Siren’s Call making the true Brewer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of modern beer; Pilsen. Inspired by the noble brew he scribbled notes; triple decoction, 100% Czech Moravian malt, fermentation in unlined oak tanks, generous amounts of Saaz Hops, Krausening and a three month ice cold lager. An elegant masterpiece of complexity lost to change in the Czech Republic. We resurrect and invest, by brewing without compromise, that exact Old World recipe and this is the brew - Bohemian Lager.

12oz bottle acquired in trade (thanks Jason!). Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of earthiness, some wood, grassy, and grains. Tastes of the same earthiness, grass, toasted grains, and a little spicy.

Bottle sampled on 11/9/08: Pours a clear bright golden with a stringy-lacing froth of creamy white head. Fresh noble hoppy nose has a nice light pale malty presence. Body is semi-sweet and has great authentic fresh hoppy character and balance and is incredibly smooth and drinkable. This is probably the best pilsener of any kind that I’ve had.

Bottle… Clear golden lager with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Good retention. The aroma offers reserved banana esters and unpretentious smoky phenols together with pale grains. Full-bodied and almost chewy with prickly carbonation. Hearty, light to medium-roast malt is backed up by an excellent, true-to-style, hop bite. Lengthy, crisp, lightly bitter finish. Thanks to scubarex for providing the bottle!

Pours a clear gold with a pronounced white head. Smells of dry pilsner malt, wildflowers, some sweet hints. Tastes dry and crisp with soem appley hints and a mildly bitter floral finish.

Deep golden color with a two fingers of thick, soft peak, off-white bubbles. Coral reel type lace. Quite light in aroma with light caramel, mildly toasted malt, and hints of oak and floral hops. Not the bigger hops I was expecting, but a solid lager nose. Pure malt/lager goodness. Light pale malt sweetness and just hints of grass and lemon zest bitterness to balance things out. Crisp and clean. Nearly too clean. This is perfect in brewing history. A clean triple decoction brew. This is an amazing brew from an artistic point of view.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate grainy citrus aroma. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectation where met.

Beautiful dark gold colored body with a fluffy and long lasting bright white head. The aroma is a little bit grainy with some strong floral hop notes. There is some over cooked pizza crust, but in the brick oven way. The taste has some light notes of bitter orange peels. There is also some roasted peanut. The body is lightly carbonated, and that makes this super smooth. Excellent.
