Commercial Description:
Sublimely elegant this toffee toned bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak bourbon barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today, you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and carmel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this bourbon barrel a masterwork to remember.

Poured a copper color with a small ring of off white bubbles around the edges. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, vanilla, wood, pipe tobacco, and bourbon. Taste of caramel, dried fruits, vanilla, molasses, and nuts, with some bourbon alcohol in the finish. Thanks Mike!

Bottle. Deep copper orange in color with a little head. Caramel, vanilla and hoppy aroma. Brown sugar notes. Malty caramel sweet flavor. Vanilla oak notes. Sweet tasting. Medium bodied. Finish is sweet. Nice beer.

Another typical NG unplugged. Hops, caramel, vanilla, alcohol, brown sugar... all of which seem to combine to the same datey flavor... and always cherries... cherries. Please stop with the cherries!

A big sweet beer infused with caramel, raspberries, vanilla and green wood. The finish has a brief alcohol bit but otherwise this is a pretty fine beer. Also, it’s not cloyingly sweet; it lets the alcohol and other flavors come through.

Pours coppery color with pretty much no head. The aroma is very sweet, bourbon and wood. Hints of vanilla cherry. Body is a tiny bit fizzy but medium thickness. Flavor is a sweet bourbon and vanilla for me. Overall pretty good for this style. The flavors come out and the touch of bourbon is not overpowering.

Clear mahogany pour with small head that dissipates quickly...almost looks like actual bourbon. Aroma is strongly bourbon, with some vanilla and wood accents...very nicely done! Flavor is very, very mellow and pleasant, and dominated by caramel malts and smooth bourbon up front, and then you get a bit of sour tang near the end; although the bourbon did dominate to some extent, there was enough complexity to this drink to keep it pretty darn good. Nice carbonation on the palate...great offering by New Glarus.

12 oz bottle thanks to Secret Santa. Aromas are wood and tartness. Burbon on the flavor with more wood and Bretty flavors. Sweet fruit finish with no sign of alchol under the oaky notes. Pretty darn tasty

12 oz bottle. Poured medium amber color a bit lighter then I had expected. Certainly lighter then NG Uf da boch. Thin white head. Aroma of bourbon but amazingly it was very light in the flavor. Sweet plum fruity flavors instead. A slight oak finish. Pretty good.
