Commercial Description:
Sublimely elegant this toffee toned bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak bourbon barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today, you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and carmel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this bourbon barrel a masterwork to remember.

Bottle courtesy of the generosity of barleyPops – thanks Duane! Pours slightly hazy amber with a half finger tan head that faded fast. The nose is vanilla, caramel malt, light brown sugar and slight wood. The taste is cocoa, dark fruit, candied sugar and oaky bourbon. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. The bourbon cuts down the typical Bock sweetness nicely. Good stuff.

Red in color and completely clear. There is no head to speak of and the smell is straight bourbon and nothing else. The mouthfeel is the only thing I like about this beer. The taste is syrupy like cherry cough syrup and has some bourbon notes. I honestly could not tell the difference between this and the bourbon barrel quadruple. I also could not detect the brett. Bottle thanks to iowaherkeye. Pours with a foamy tan head over a, for the most part clear, copper body. Head fades. Aroma is room filling. Notes abound of toffee, dark fruits, vanilla, caramel, slight horse sweet, and dark cherry pastry. Taste is toasty up front with caramel, long duration to dark fruits, bourbon wood, cherry and a long sticky caramel finish. Brett is very light, but really molds things well. Syrupy, light bubbles. Interesting, unique, and another awesome creation from Daniel Cary!

Bottle, 12oz. A clear, copper-colored beer with a small, beige head. Malty, caramel nose, bready, with bourbon, dried fruits and faint notes of vanilla and alcohol. Caramel-sweet flavor with alcohol, some vanillla, and bourbon. Warming and full-bodied. The finish is long and warming with flavors of caramel and bourbon. The beer is a bit too evident on the bourbon I think, but as a sipper it’s quite lovely. (090605)

bottle going on two years shared by psprings... coppery orange brown pour with a small whitish head. the aroma is rude with bourbon... at first. luckily it settles down to reveal aged grain, vanilla, warming spiciness, chocolate, sugar cane, wood, minerals, an odd tartness and a distinct note of rotting fruit. if you can imagine a combination of barley, apple juice, red grapes and red grape juice mixed together and you forgot to put it in the fridge so it didn’t spoil... that would be it. it is strange for sure. intriguing. perplexing... the palate is surprisingly not sweet. the bretts and age must have done their business... the flavor is really grape-y... kinda like tart spoiled red wine/sour fruit mixed with wood, grain, spice, watered down bourbon, vanilla and brown sugar (if it can be imagined without the sweetness). the medium body is a bit syrupy yet tartness keeps it drinkable and makes my brain hurt while i try to figure this thing out...8/3/6/3/15/3.5

pours a ruby brown. Nose is bourbon, sweet malts, caramel, wood, vanilla, floral hops and slight funk. Flavor is much the same as the nose with a great malt backbone. Good full body. One of the better UnPlugged.
