Commercial Description:
Sublimely elegant this toffee toned bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak bourbon barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today, you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and carmel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this bourbon barrel a masterwork to remember.

Pours a dark mahogany color with a thin ring of white bubbles. Smells of cherries, lemons, caramel, some toffee, chocolate, molasses. Tastes oaky with lots of sweetness coming out (caramel, syrup, some dark fruit). A touch of bourbon is present on the finish but is not overwhelming.

Bottle poured a clear dark copper with a minimal ring of amber head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, fruitiness, carmel, light mollases and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied crisp and slightly tart. Flavors of bourbon, oak, carmel, fruitiness and light spice with a crisp sweet lingering finish.

12oz bottle-A medium amber body with no head and a small ring with a little lacing. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, and alcohol. Taste of the same with the bourbon and vanilla being very abundant. If you don’t care for these flavors you will not care for this beer. I think it is a great tasting brew.

Clear orange/red color with a small head. Aroma of sweet cherries and bourbon, brown sugar and vanilla. An extra good start.
Taste of dark fruit, sweet cherries and vanilla with the bourbon cutting through after. Sweet in general, with a little tang in the texture.
Another tasty ’barrel aged’ from New Glarus. Will this madness ever stop? I need to put this back on my want list.

Pours a medium brown color quite clear. Nose is not as heavy as you’d think on the bourbon, but its there. Tagging along with it is some fruit and caramel. Going down you notice big time malt as well as the bourbon and oak notes. Not horrible, not great.

I wasn’t really sure when would be a good time to crack open this beer, so after sitting on it for about 6 months, the time had come. The beer is caramel brown in color, cloudy, lighter than I would have thought, with a thin wispy white head. It’s hard to miss the bourbon aroma because it’s strength is a full on assault to the nose. Slightly sweet, a little funky underneath but the blast of bourbon I enjoyed (much the same way I enjoyed Allagash’s Curieux) immensley. The beer really threw me for a loop once I started tasting it. It really reminded me of some sort of whiskey sour mixed drink. It really was nothing like a "bock" style of beer, but something totally different. Still, I did enjoy the 12 oz beer and I’d definitely get it again just to enjoy something as different as this beer is, over and over again.

Thanks KingpinIPA! Pours a deep ruby red with a small white head. Aroma is of bourbon and kind of fruity. Taste is of bourbon, sweet and roasted malts. Very sweet upfront. Medium to full body and very smooth.

Shared by shigadeyo at the Cinncy tasting. A nice spiced aroma that includes raisins. A deep amber pour with a light head and lacing. A flavor of tart fruitiness (raisiny). A pleasantly warm beer very refreshing. Palate is smooth carbonation on the edge of aggressive. All round good beer that has the warmth that is pleasant.
